▸ "When's the last time you've seen Taehyung?"
"I probably see him twice a month. Sometimes less." The fact the Hikyu didn't hesitate to answer made Viv calm down quite a bit. "Why? You haven't seen him at all today? Is he okay?"
Viv nodded slowly. "I just... I don't know what to do. This article came out exposing me and Taehyung secretly sneaking around. I'm scared to go back to work and I don't see Taehyung doing anything to stop it."
Hikyu started laughing in her face as if Viv did something embarrassing. The mood went from serious to almost unrealistic in a second. "What's funny? This is serious, Hikyu!"
"Viv, I don't give a fuck about you and Taehyung or what problems you have going on. His grandpa died last night, the hospital called me. I'm going to be free from that terrible family and whatever happens next has nothing to do with me. Because of Taehyung and his father, I almost lost my business twice. They try and buy me out of everything and all they want is money and greed. The only thing I can tell you right now is good luck. But who knows. You might be just fit for the king."
She snatched her purse off the cafe table and left without paying for her coffee or anything. Viv left money and a tip for their waitress then chased after Hikyu.
"So you're really leaving!" She called out as the woman unlocked her car.
"Yes? I thought he told you everything when that article about us came out? Why are you acting so clueless all of a sudden?"
It was then and there, Viv realized she made the biggest mistake her brain could ever make up. Within the blink of an eye, she's ruined everything because she couldn't get past one thing in her life and that was Taehyung being married.
[Viv] Tae.. can we talk? message not delivered
[Viv] Did you block me !? message not delivered
[Viv] FUCK YOU! message not delivered
It wasn't as if Viv didn't know where he was because she always knew where he was. She just didn't have the guts to find him and tell him all that she's done. Viv wasn't one to apologize without it physically hurting.
But she knew that if she wanted to get Taehyung back, she'd have to do something.

"Hana!" Viv smiled with laughs and joy. The woman did not return the friendliness. "Taehyung is here, yes?" She rolled her eyes while getting back to work. "I know I lied and made you look severely stupid, but Taehyung just lost his grandfather and for all you know, he could be up there trying to kill himself-"
"Now why would I do that?" Viv whirled around to face the man who stood tall and well with both hands in his suit pocket. "You and I both wanted the man dead and now you think I'm going into deep depression about it? So unlike you, Viv." She sighed but not in relief. "Send the elevator up to my office floor. Viv, you can come with me."
She didn't hesitate to do as told. Viv followed him and all she kept thinking was that she was going to be blindsided, kidnapped, and water boarded until she learned how to behave. But to her relief, none of that happened.
"It's astonishing how you think I just didn't know." He slid his fingers across his desk as he went to take a seat. "You know, how else do you think I got here? By being nice? Nice men aren't millionaires and they damn sure are not billionaires, Viv. I got here by being a sneaky, manipulative, and violent little creature. And I never got caught. Or so... I thought. In reality, my dad somehow knew everything I've done. It had me thinking, how?
Money, Viv. You control people with money. A little cash dollars in their face and they tip like a pot of overflowing boiling water." He fixed the cuff of his suit sleeves then kicked his feet up on the desk. "I knew Seonjun knew who this anonymous buyer was. He was too eager to sell. Two million dollars later... your name came up. I was just waiting for you to tell me but instead... you stabbed me in the back, Viv. You twisted the knife!"
"You have no idea what I went through trying to love you, Tae!"
He jumped up from his seat in pure rage. Viv took a large step back when he managed to get in her face within a second. "You shouldn't have to try! Love me for me, why don't you!" He covered his mouth as if the volume in his voice was even too much to carry. "I told you that everything I did, I did it for us. But you never trusted me. You want to know why I promoted Hana? Not because I slept with her once but because her fucking sister is a track star making deals with my dad so she can go down in history and the only way she was going to sign her life away is of her entire family had something to do with The Kim's. I was forced to do this just like I'm forced to do everything but I still do it because of you! I want better for you, Viv! But you just betray me every step of the way!"
"I can- I—"
"You did one thing right though. You published that article. The whole world knows. We can start over. We can do this... again. But this time, I'm going to promote you one last time." Taehyung, heart still filled with fury, gets down on one knee.
