Katniss's POV-
We walk off the train and to my surprise, we are in the capitol. I thought about leaving as soon as I realized that we were in the capitol but Peeta convinced me to stay.
*Flash back to 5 minutes ago*
I walk off the train and realize were in the capitol. I go to turn around but the train doors have already closed. I try banging on them when Peeta grabs my arm and asks me, "What's wrong?" I look at him as I'm breathing heavily, "I don't want to be here. Let's go." I go to purchase two tickets back to district 12 when Peeta stops me and says, "We're already in the capitol, might as well take a look around." When Peeta says this I turn around to look him in the eyes, looking if he was serious, which he was. In that moment I wanted to punch him in the face, instead, I said, as calmly as I could, "Peeta are you serious?" I pause for a second before continuing, "Okay, if we stay. IF. What would we do here?" I can tell I stumped Peeta because it takes him a second until he responds with, "We could visit Haymitch and Effie." I totally forgotten they had lived here. I agreed because I wanted to catch up with Haymitch and Effie, see how they're doing.
Peeta and I walk to Effie's house, and of course the paparazzi follows us, yelling ridiculous questions, like, "Is it true that you're supporting killing the dolphins?" I couldn't believe they had asked that.
*Flash back ends*
Katniss's POV-
When we arrive at Effie's door, we knock and wait for an answer. After a few moments Effie answers the door and shrieks, "Katniss! Peeta! Hello! Come in, come in!" She moves out of the way so we can walk in. "What brings you to the capitol?" Effie asks as we walk into the living room.
Peeta and I look at each other and I ask, "Is Haymitch here? We want to tell you guys something." Effie looks at the both of us curiously and then says, "Yes he is here." "Haymitch! Peeta and Katniss are here!" Effie calls for Haymitch. After a few moments Haymitch comes down the stairs and says, "Hello sweetheart, bread boy." Peeta rolls his eyes as we all sit down. Peeta holds onto my hand as I blurt out, "I'm pregnant." There is a few moments of shocked looks on Effie and Haymitch's faces and then they quickly turn into smiles, "Oh congratulations! Congratulations!" Effie shrieks as she hugs Peeta and I. "We have to have a party!" She screams in excitement. "Ill call the tailor. Oh! And I can call my friend at the bakery to make some pastries. I know Peeta your pastries are the best but you haven't tried my friends pastries! There delicious! Oh! And we ca-" "Effie." I interrupt Effie before she can keep going, "We are not having a baby shower or anything at all. I'm going to do everything I can to avoid the paparazzi finding out. I want to keep my child out of the spotlight for as long as I can. I know I can't keep them out of the spotlight forever, but I can at least try to keep them out of the spotlight for a couple years." This puts a shocked expression on Effie's face. Haymitch doesn't look too surprised. Effie keeps going on and on about how we should announce it. I kept telling her no, that I made up my mind. She looked at me as if this was the end of the world. "How do you expect to keep this a secret from the paparazzi?" Effie asks. "Everything that I can." I respond. Haymitch nods while Effie continues to look at me incredulously. After a few minutes Peeta says, "Well, we better get going." he stands up and reaches his hand out for me to take. I take his hand and get up. We say our byes to Effie and haymitch. We are surrounded by the paparazzi at the train station, I try to keep calm even though I want to punch all of them. Shortly after, the train arrives to take us to district 12
