*KATNISS POV*
"Joanna?" I say, surprised.
"What the hell! I give you my number to catch up and you don't call! Then you have a baby, and I have to find out his name on the news! Then you get shot and continue not to call me. What's up with that, Mockingjay?" She shouts as she approaches us.
I laugh and walk to give her a hug.
"Peeta." She says, acknowledging his presence.
He gives her a nod of acknowledgment.
"How have you been?" I ask her
She holds up her hand, showing an engagement ring.
"Congrats!" I tell her
"Thanks. Alder proposed last week. I was gonna call and tell you about my engagement but since I had to find out about yours on the news I decided against it." She tells me playfully.
"So you came to district 12 to tell me in person?" I ask her
"Nah. I came to see baby Rye!" She says, looking over my shoulder at Rye, sleeping.
She walks towards his stroller. She picks him up.
"Aren't you the cutest little boy ever!" She says to him
"Thanks. A lot of work went into making him." Peeta says, winking at me. "Peeta!" I Chastise. Johanna busts out laughing. Leaving me no choice but to also laugh.
"Would you like to come over for dinner? Maybe stay the night?" I ask.
"Of course." She replies. I smile and we continue walking home.
*AT THE HOUSE* *PEETA'S POV*
I grab the plates from the cabinets. I set them on the table and put the food on the table. "Dinners ready!" I call out.
Katniss and Johanna walk into the kitchen with Rye. Katniss is telling her about my bakery.
"Wow, that sounds great!" She says.
We sit down and eat.
"So, Peeta. How do you like being a dad?" Johanna asks me.
"I love it. I didn't know I could love someone this much. Besides Katniss of course," I say, adding the last sentence last minute.
Katniss laughs, "smooth," she says. Johanna laughs too.
"When is Rye's birthday, exactly?" Joanna asks.
"July 9th" I respond.
We get to talking about my bakery and the designs for it. Soon we are done eating and I pick up Rye and put him in his playpen.
*Hours later* *Katniss POV*
I walk Joanna out of the house, as she decided to not spend the night as an emergency came up in her home district. "I'll for sure talk to you later." I promise her.
"You better! Or I'll come and kick your ass! pregnant or not." she replies
I stop at her words. "What?" I ask her
"You're pregnant again, aren't you?" she asks
"No. What makes you say that?" i ask
"You said you and Peeta have been having a lot more sex recently and that you have been throwing up like crazy all throughout the day, but mostly in the morning. Foods you used to love you don't like anymore. I mean, these are all pregnancy signs. Shouldn't you know this? Since you've been pregnant before? I thought you were just giving me little hints or something." She explains.
"No. I didn't realize." I say, softly.
She looks at me, I can't read her expression. Soon her cab pulls up.
"Well, I'll see you later. If you need anything. Let me know." she tells me
"Thanks" I reply softly, giving her a smile.
She gives me a hug, before she hops into the cab and it drives away.
I go inside and tell peeta I'm walking to the store.
"Oh, want me and Rye to come with?" He asks me
"No. I think I'm gonna go alone." I say quickly. Grabbing my wallet
"okay, well at least take the car. I want you to be safe." he tells me, as he walks over and gives me a kiss.
"Okay. I will. Are you sleeping over tonight then?" I ask him
He looks at me, shocked. "I didn't know you wanted me to move back in this soon." he says
"of course. You're my everything, second to rye of course." I smile at him
He kisses me. "Be safe." he tells me as I grab the keys.
I give him a nod and smile and walk to the car.
I go to the store and grab a few different pregnancy tests.
The cashier looks at me excitedly. I look at her name tag
"tell anyone about this and I'll kill you." I say harshly, an empty threat of course, but she buys it and quickly gets me out of there. I pay and leave a tip.
I go back to the car and drive home. I go straight to the bathroom. I do one test. A few minutes later, it comes back positive. I do another, same thing, I do the last test, and it's another positive.
I'm pregnant.
