two months later...
I walked into our room to see Peeta packing up the rest of our clothes. We found a nice 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house in the heart of the city in district 12. It was quite expensive but worth it in the end. The smile peeta had on his face when the sale went through. That smile made everything worth it.
We had started to pack last month. Most of our stuff was moved into our new house, but we still had a few things left here. Our new house has a large yard for Rye to play in. Peeta has been thinking about opening up a bakery. I'm open to the idea. When it came time to pack up Prim's room I couldn't bring myself to do it. So we decided to keep her room the same.
Peeta turns around holding a box and looks a little startled to see me.
"Didn't know you were here." he says
"Decided to come last minute" I say with a smile.
I take the box from his hands and start to leave the room as he says,
"It's okay Katniss, I got it." he reaches his hands out to take it.
"No its okay, you have other boxes to move, I got this one."
I go down the stairs and out the front door and put the box in the trunk of our SUV. We also bought our SUV shortly after Rye was born. We decided we couldn't walk around with him anymore after an incident with the paparazzi. Peeta actually punched a paparazzi, and I didn't try stopping him. After that incident we decided we needed to get a car. We did research and bought the safest car we could. money was not an issue.
Peeta comes up behind me with another box and goes to put it in the trunk "Is that the last one?" I ask
"No, one more. I'll grab it." he says, walking away.
I sit in the driver seat of the car and wait for Peeta. We are heading to pick Rye up from Haymitch's house. Haymitch has been sober for the past month.

He got sober after we told him he wouldn't be able to see Rye if he was constantly drunk. He stormed off. But after seeing we were serious, he started to get sober. He wasn't able to do it cold turkey, which we understood. we just told him he couldn't be shit-faced drunk. So he only got buzzed. We made it clear he couldn't be around our son with alcohol in his system, even if it was just a bit. So he couldn't see our son as much as he wanted to, but these past two weeks, he hasn't been drinking at all. So we decided to let him babysit unsupervised. We told him one screw up and its over. He will never be left alone with our baby for at least 7 years. I don't know if we would actually follow through with that, he wouldn't be left alone with our baby for the future (at least 2 years), but it seemed to have worked.
As I am lost in my thoughts, peeta opens the passenger side door, making me jump.
"didn't mean to scare you." he says
"I guess we're even now" I say, chuckling. Peeta shakes his head slightly while chuckling.
"Ready to pick up Rye?" he asks
"Of course! I miss him already." I reply.
I start the car and put it in reverse. I drive down the street to Haymitch's house. Who is dreading this move.
I go up to the door and open it.
"Haymitch! We're here!" I shout.
I hear grumbling from the other room. I see haymitch grumbling to our baby about how he doesn't want this move to happen.
'i don't know what your parents issue is. I think victors village is an amazing place to live. Ive lived here damn near my whole life. yeah, I know you're agreeing with me. Now your parents are here to take you away. Dont worry little buddy, we will see each other soon." he babbles on and on. I stand there, peeta walking up behind me.
I clear my throat.
Haymitch jumps, "woah, didn't know you guys were here."

"didn't you just say that I was here to take him away?"
Haymitch turns a light shade of red, so light it is barely noticable, but I notice it.
I walk over to him and take Rye out of his arms. "Hi baby, did you miss us? We missed you" I say, talking in a light and quiet voice.
"No he didn't. He said he wants to stay here with me." Haymitch says Peeta rolls his eyes and I giggle.
"We'll come visit, and you're welcome over anytime!" I say
"Just not all the time. Maybe 3 times a week." Peeta says.
I giggle, haymitch shoots him a glare.
Peeta and I walk out of the house to our car. I put Rye in his car seat, and buckle him in tight, but not too tight.
"See you tomorrow?" Haymitch calls out.
"probably not! Maybe the day after?" I shout back
"Okay." he says as he shuts the door.

Peeta and I drive to our new house. It's a ten minute drive from Victor's Village. We arrive in the drive way. Peeta gets out of the car and grabs one of the boxes from the car. I take Rye out of his car seat. I bring him into the house, and set him down in his bassinet. Peeta has already brought in 2 of the boxes.
"Just one more" he says
I turn to look at Rye. Sleeping.
Peeta brings in the last box.
"I'm gonna start dinner" he says
"Thank you" I say with a smile. Which he returns

1 hour later..
PEETA'S POV
Katniss and I are eating dinner when we hear Rye crying. Katniss gets up to go feed him.
"It's okay baby" I hear katniss from the other room.
I walk in and see her breastfeeding our baby. I'm in awe of her more and more everyday. She notices me staring and blushes. "I'll pack up dinner for later" I say. She smiles and nods.

Later in the night
KATNISS POV
I'm putting Rye in his crib when I hear Peeta's heavy footsteps. He walks into the room, I turn around, "he's finally asleep" I say with a sigh. He smiles. I get into bed, peeta follows shortly after. He puts his arm around my waist and I lean into him. We both stare at the beautiful baby we made. I cry, knowing it was supposed to be two babies.
"Babe, what's wrong?" Peeta says, worried
"I'm just thinking how there's supposed to be two of them" I quietly sob
I can see the pain in peeta's eyes as he pulls me into a hug. I sob into his chest, not being able to hold it in any longer. After a while I tire myself out and fall asleep.

THE NEXT DAY...
Katniss POV
It's early in the morning when I'm woken by Rye crying. I get up to change him. "Hey it's okay rye, mommy's here." I say quietly, trying not to wake peeta. I go into the nursery to change him. Our new house is really nice. We decided to put Rye's room right next to ours, so when he's old enough to sleep in there, we can hear him if he cries. We decided to have him sleep in our room, at least for the next few months. I change Rye's diaper and put him into new clothes. I then lay him back down into his crib, hoping he will sleep for a little longer. I give him a pacifier. And soon enough, he's asleep. Peeta and I decided to have him nap in his room, that way he is somewhat used to it when he switches over to sleeping in here at night.

I walk out of the room, quietly. I go back into our room and lay down next to peeta. Soon, I'm fast asleep.
I awake a few hours later to peeta not in bed. I figure he's making breakfast. I notice the time and realize it's almost time for Rye to be fed. I get up and go into his room to see he is not in his crib. I start to panic, I run down the stairs yelling for peeta.
Peeta runs to the bottom of the stairs as I'm basically running down them. I see him holding Rye with a concerned look. When I see Rye I sigh. "Geez peeta! I thought someone took Rye!!" I say
"Oh, sorry. I checked on him when I woke up and he was awake. So I decided to take him downstairs with me." He explains.
"It's fine, I was just worried." I respond
"It's time for him to be fed." I reach out my arms for Rye. Peeta gives him to me, and I go into the living room to feed him.

Our first night in the new house.
