“Get out of the way, Kailey!” Alex snarled, as he looked at me with hate.

Tears blurred my vision, and streamed down my face, “No! Just stop, p-please stop,” I cried, pleading with him.

“You expect me to stop after what he did? After what you both did?” He yelled, “I’m not going to stop until I have his bloody head,”

My body began to tremble, he couldn’t be serious, right? But by judging the look on his face. He was completely serious. My knees gave out, and I fell to the ground. What have I done?

“Kailey!” I heard Justin shout in concern.

“Stay the hell away from her! Haven’t you done enough?” Alex yelled.

I couldn’t breathe, at least not properly. My chest quickly heaved up and down, my vision only seemed to get worse. I thought I was going to faint, but I couldn’t. I needed to stay awake, I had to make sure that they wouldn’t kill each other. This is all my fault, I was so torn. A part of me wanted Alex, but another part not only wanted but needed Justin. I didn’t know what to do.

“She needs help,” I heard Justin make his way over to me.

“I swear, if you take one more step, I will tear you apart,” Alex replied.

“I’m not scared of you, mutt,” Justin said in disgust.

It was silent for a second, but it felt like two lifetimes, then I saw something jump over my crumpled form, and tackle another form to the ground. Alex and Justin. My chest heaved even quicker. They were going to kill each other. My eyes frantically searched the huge room, but I found nothing. All of my friends were just standing by, because they knew it wouldn’t be smart to get involved. They knew that this had to happen. The two men fought for a fought for minutes, or hours, I couldn’t tell anymore, but suddenly I knew what I had to do I could’ve smacked myself for not thinking of it sooner. As fast as lightening the two were separated, held up in the air with my powers. My eyes switched between them to survey the damage. Alex had a gash above his eyebrow, and a bruise on his right cheek. Justin looked the worst though, his shirt was ripped, his lip was busted, his nose looked crooked, and he seemed to be cradling his side. My face morphed into one of panic, I began to crawl towards him, when Alex spoke.

“If you go to him, then that’s it, Kailey. We’re done,” It wasn’t a threat, it was a promise. There was so much certainty in his voice that it scared me.

I stopped moving. My gaze landed on his face, and even though Justin had the most injuries, it was as if Alex was the one that felt them all, like he had lost. He looked so defeated. I felt so worthless in that moment. How could I’ve done this to him, I feel like more of a monster than I did when I was rouge.

“You need to choose, Kailey, because you can’t have both of us,” It was as if Alex was staring right into my soul, “You just can’t,”

I cocked my head to the side, confused, “You’d still take me back?”
