Justin's POV

Remember how I said we were going to die? Yeah, well, I was wrong, but the situation we were currently in wasn't any better. The wolves had us locked up in one of their stupid cells. Holding us like fucking prisoners. I'll have you know that I'm a very civilized vampire. I can be kind, caring, and gentl- oh, who the fuck was I kidding? I'd kill any fucking thing with a pulse, without any type of remorse, but it still didn't mean I liked being chained up like a damn animal.

"We just need to talk to your Alpha!" Carter said for millionth time since we've gotten locked up.

"Oh, give it a rest will you." I sighed, "They're not letting us out any time soon."

Fortunately, he did stop and we were left in a heavy silence...for about thirty seconds before I heard the sound of chains jingling roughly. I looked to my left, towards the cell holding Vanessa, Dylan, and Jace, to see Dylan tugging on his chains uselessly.

"What are you doing?" Artemist asked.

"Trying to get out of here, what does it look like." He replied sharply.

I shook my head, feeling defeated, "We shouldn't have come here. Kailey could be perfectly fine, she's probably sitting down right now having dinner."

"Do you honestly believe that?" Jace questioned, already knowing the answer.

"Yep." I said popping the 'p'. Truth is, I didn't believe that. When Kailey didn't come back I instantly became worried. What if some rouges got to her before she even made it to her house? What if she tripped and fell off a cliff? I know that was a bit far-fetched, but at this point I was thinking anything was possible.

Oh god, she could be lying dead in a ditch somewhere.

If I thought I was panicking before, then I have no idea what to call this new feeling that suddenly consumed my body. I stood up from my position of sitting on the floor, and began pulling on the chains that were binding my hands.

Why did I care so goddamn much?

I honestly didn't know, but I didn't stop tugging. The thought of her being dead was the only thing that fueled me right now. That's why when the chains broke I didn't hesitate in releasing my family and breaking out of the cell. The guards were further down the hall walking around, making sure all the prisoners were in their cells. It would only take them a few minutes to get back to ours, then alert the others we escaped. With that my family and I bolted out of there, running the opposite direction of the guards and hoping to find an escape route. Apparently luck was on our side because we soon found a staircase leading outside, the only problem would be the guards. But I couldn't slow down, I had to make sure she was ok. That she wasn't lying in a ditch somewhere.

I raced up the stairs without hesitation, bursting through the doors, startling the guards. I snuck up behind one of them quickly snapping their neck, then proceeding to rip it off his shoulders. Killing the fucking bastard. I didn't get a chance to take out the second one, because Dylan already did- ripped his heart right out.

I guess you could say we were more than a little pissed.

Together we all began to run towards the Alphas house, with wolves on our heels. I guess they figured out we escaped. I heard one of them howling- alerting others- when we were about fifteen feet away from the house.

"Shit!" I heard Artemist shout.

I look back to see a wolf jump onto her small form and start snapping at her neck, but Jace is quickly there roughly shoving it off of her. He pulls her up and we're off before anymore could catch up. I run up the steps and break the door, quickly looking for the Alpha. Barely five seconds pass before a man is standing in front me and my family. His body is radiating power and I gather that he's the Alpha.
