Chapter 22

Alex loved to watch Scarlet work. She would always bite her lip when she was deep in thought and grin wickedly when she discovered something useful. Alex was just watching from the corner as Scarlet weaved her way around the room. Finally she stood up. "Ha! I just found them." She said excitedly. "Where at?" He asked.

Scarlet grinned. "Baby, we're going to Idaho." She said wickedly Alex smiled and grabbed his jacket off his chair. "Race you to the car." He said, running out the door laughing at Scarlet's protests.

Alex jumped in the car and a few minutes later Scarlet came out. She slid into the passenger seat and Alex pulled away from the house. Alex glanced over at Scarlet who was typing away at her computer. "What part of Idaho are we going to?" He asked

Scarlet shook her head. "The traffic camera footage was deleted, I can't find them." She growled. Alex nodded and got onto the freeway. "Well let's get to Idaho and then we can figure out what to do."

Scarlet sighed and closed her computer. "Why cant I just kill Nava and Isabella?" She groaned. They drove in silence before Alex grinned and flipped a u-turn. "Alex! What in the world are you doing!" Yelled Scarlet.

"I just remembered an old friend I have who might be able to help us." He said. Scarlet sat back. He glanced over at her and grinned wider. "Maybe your going about this wrong. Maybe you should be looking at how you can mentaly harm Nava and Isabella." He said

Scarlet raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" She asked. Alex sighed. "How can you scare Nava to the point of her not being able to function correctly?" he asked. Scarlet thought for a moment before grinning. "You hurt the one she loves." She said catching on.

Alex nodded. "Alright. Now how do you do the same to Isabella?" He asked. Scarlet looked out the window. "You make it so she can't fight back." She said. Alex made a turn.

"I see the wheels in your mind turning. What are you thinking about?" He asked. Scarlet sighed. "Nothing. I had an Idea but it won't work." She said. Alex laughed. "Nothing's impossible dear. This friend of mine might be able to help." He said.

Scarlet looked over at him. "What do you mean?" She asked. "My friend is good with technology. If you give him a basic idea of what you want he can most likely build it." He said. Scarlet smiled evilly. "I know exactly what I want." She said.

Scarlet pulled out a notebook and pen and started sketching. Alex looked over occasionally wondering what scarlet was planning. After a while he pulled up to a small house. Scarlet looked at him skeptically. "This is it?" she asked.

Alex smiled and nodded. "Promise it's better on the inside." He said. Scarlet shook her head and climbed out of the car. Alex walked over and slid his arm around her waist. "Are you ready to turn the tables to your advantage?" He asked.

Scarlet held back a small grin. "Darlin', I've been ready for years." She said walking up to the house. Alex grabbed her upper arm. "Hold on babe. This guy isn't what I would call stable." He said looking at the door.

He looked back at Scarlet. "Let me do the talking and then you can tell him about whatever you've got in that notebook of yours." He said. Scarlet cringed but nodded. Alex sighed and they walked up to the home together.

Alex nodded at Scarlet and she nodded back. He knocked on the door and waited for a minute before knocking again. He growled and kicked the door a few times. "Go away!" Called a voice from inside. Alex kicked the door a few more times. "Jake you idiot! Come open this door now!" He yelled.

They heard quiet swear words mumbled from inside before the door opened. "Alex! How are you?" Said a short balding man with a yellowish tint to his skin. Scarlet held back a sneer as he shook hands with Alex.

Jake turned to her. "Who's this?" He asked. Alex slipped his arm around her shoulders. "This is Scarlet my girlfriend." He said. Jake wiggled his eyebrows. "Tell me my dear friend how a man like you could get a most beautiful woman like her?" He said flitasiously taking her hand and kissing it.

Scarlet yanked her hand back and bit back her remark struggling to keep her face emotionless. Jake grinned as if he knew exactly what was going through her mind. Alex stepped in front of Scarlet slightly. "Jake, we have a little situation and need your help please." he said.

Jake pulled his eyes away from Scarlet. "No, no, no, no!" He said, throwing his hands up and walking inside. Alex followed him holding a finger up to his lips. "Last time I helped you, I was almost killed! The police came and searched my home and now some of my clients don't trust me as much!" He said

Alex placed a hand on his hip. "But you had fun. That cannon was the coolest and last thing that gang saw." He said. Scarlet turned to Alex, her mind full of questions. He shook his head and she rolled her eyes. Jake laughed.

"True." He said sitting in front of a computer. He watched them for a second before growling. "Alright. Fine, what do you want me to do?" He asked Scarlet grinned and pulled out her note book.
