Nava

Chapter 28

Nava woke up multiple hours later and looked around. She sat up and groaned willing away the headache she had. She noticed Dustin's sprawled out form on the ground and crawled over.

She lightly shook his arm. "Dustin please wake up." She said frantically. She looked around the room again and remembered the events from last night. She pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.

Dustin stirred and Nava quickly turned her attention to him. "What happened?" He asked, slurring his words slightly. Nava helped him sit up. "Isabella knocked me out and I'm assuming she did the same to you." She said.

He nodded slowly. "That sounds about right." He said, rubbing the back of his head. Nava stood up with a groan. "We have to find her." She said. Dustin stood as well. "Are you sure that's the best idea? I mean Isabella is the best at what she does for a reason. No one in their right mind would fight her." he said

Nava started walking towards Isabella's office. "Well then I guess it's a good thing I'm not in my right mind." She said pushing the door open. When she stepped inside she saw a sword lying on the desk with a note on top. Nava opened the letter and read it.

Dustin watched her read before walking over to look at the intricate blade. He picked it up and noticed markings in the blade he smirked as he read them. Dustin opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by Nava ripping the paper to shreds.

"I can't believe her! She knew Scarlet would be coming! Isabella knew she was coming and she didn't tell me!" She ranted. Dustin set the sword down. "Why not?" He asked. Nava scowled and looked to the side slightly to avoid eye contact. "Nava, why didn't she tell you?" he asked knowing full well why she didn't say anything.

Nava mumbled something and Dustin grabbed her chin lifting her eyes to his. "Nava." He said. "She didn't tell me because I told her not to ruin tonight." She said. Dustin pulled her into a hug. "We'll get her back." He said

Nava looked at the sword. "At least she left a beautiful sword." she said. Dustin grinned and picked it up and handed it to her. "Read the inscription." He said Nava raised an eyebrow and held the sword up. "Well behaved women rarely make history." She read chuckling. "Yeah that sounds like something Isabella would say." she said.

Dustin smirked. "Lets go make some dinner and come up with a plan." He said walking out. Nava followed him. She stopped at the stairs to the basement. "Hold on, I want to see if Isabella has anything else that might help." She said, walking down the stairs. Dustin followed her down the stairs. Nava pulled open the door at the bottom and walked inside flipping the light on. A screen in the room lit up and Isabella popped up.

"Nava, I guess you're pretty ticked with me right now. Yes I found out that Scarlet had found us. I have no clue how she found us but i'm guessing she's going to attack here in the next few days. I don't expect her to attack tonight but since you're watching this." Isabella shrugged and then grinned.

"However I promise I will make it up to you. I assume you found the sword I left? If not, go to my office right now. If you did great now head over to the keypad on the wall and type the code 1234. I picked a simple code that you can change later. Type it in, put on the outfit and kick Scarlet's butt." Isabella's picture faded out and Nava walked over to the keypad.

She typed in the code and turned around as the wall to the left slid into the ground and revealed a secret room. The walls were filled with weapons and in the center of the room was a mannequin with a black suit and teal designs. Nava walked over to the suit and examined it. On the back was a sheath for her sword. On the thighs were sheaths for two intricately designed knives.

Dustin whistled. "I think this makes up for keeping the information about Scarlet from you." He said. Nava chuckled and felt the sleeve. "Oh it's soft." She said. Nava turned around and pushed Dustin out of the room. "You go start dinner. I want to try this on." She said. Dustin chuckled. "Alright, alright, I'm leaving." He said rolling his eyes. Nava shut the door and walked back to the suit. She examined it a little more before putting it on.

It fit like a glove. She walked upstairs and retrieved her sword from Isabella's office. She re-read the inscription and sheathed the sword. Taking a deep breath she walked out of the office stopping in the doorway.

"Isabella I promise I will get you back. Whatever Scarlet did I will undo it." She said closing the door.
