Third-person POV:
The next morning, in the Great Hall; the gang is sitting at the Gryffindor table eating for the day. Harry is twirling his food on a fork. Rose, Hermione, and Ron are currently trying to encourage their dear friend/brother to eat his breakfast before his first Quidditch match.
"Take a bit of toast, mate, go on." Ron encouraged.
"Or some fruit.....or at least drink some water" his sister also tried to tell him.
"They are right, Harry. You're gonna need your strength today." Hermione added.
"I'm not hungry guys. Sorry." Harry said.
Suddenly, Professor Snape appeared behind Harry before speaking, "Good luck today, Potter. Then again, now that you and your little friends have proven yourself against a troll, a little game of Quidditch should be easy work for you...even if it is against Slytherin."
He then walked out of the Great Hall, without another word, but this time he was limping and Harry took notice of this.
"That explains the blood," Harry said.
"Blood?" Ron and Hermione spoke.
"Snape had a gash on his leg yesterday when he, Quirrell, and McGonagall found us in the bathroom. It was oozing with blood." Rose explained.
"Yeah. That's right. But, listen, last night, I'm guessing Snape let the troll in as a diversion so he could try and get past that 3 headed dog. But, he got himself bitten, that's why he's limping."
"But why? Why would anyone want to go near that dog?" Hermione asked.
"The day me and Rose at Gringotts, Hagrid took something out of one of the vaults. He said it was Hogwarts' business, very secret." Harry explained.
"Wait for that little parcel from vault......713? So you're saying...?" Rose replied.
"That's what the dog's guarding. That's what Snape wants." Harry finished.
*Screech* *Screech*
Hedwig and Robyn flew in together helping each other carry down a rather long parcel. The twins shared a confused look.
"Harry I think it's for you..." Rose spoke.
Harry caught the parcel with his hands. Robyn flew down to perch by Rose while Hedwig flew elsewhere.
"Bit early for mail, isn't it?" Hermione asked.
"But...I....never get mail," Harry said.
"Well let's not just sit here and open the bloody thing," Ron exclaimed.
The four friends unwrapped it together to reveal a shiny broomstick. The broom handle was made of mahogany and appeared sleek and shiny. It had a long tail of neat twigs with the words "Nimbus 2000" written in gold near the top of the handle.
