Rose's POV:

For weeks and weeks before the holidays, I had trained with McGonagall and Kettleburn to learn the ways of becoming an animagus. I had reached the end of the course and am on my way to my final lesson; the actual transformation.

Not many first years can learn this cycle within one day which is why Dumbledore gave me my necklace; the one that makes the transformation faster and less harmful. I got more and more nervous as I walked up to the Transfiguration classroom, which had been emptied for me to use.

Dumbledore also came to assist us and to watch the process.

"Alright, dear......are you ready?" McGonagall asked sympathetically.

"Ready as I'll ever be.." I responded confidently.

I then put on my necklace and got into position. Learning of the techniques  McGonagall helped a lot. I ended up telling Harry and Ron about the necklace and the class I took after Hermione continuously encouraged me.

In reality, they both thought it was really cool and that they would love to see my animal form once I've mastered it.

I was really nervous. My heartbeat sped up faster as McGonagall raised her wand. I stood tall and closed my eyes before she chanted an incantation.

Suddenly, a swirl of light and sparkles floated around me. My heart-shaped necklace was glowing. The patterns along the chain of the necklace released different whisp like animals around me.

And then it began...

My body started shifting. I felt like howling in pain but managed to keep myself calm thanks to the necklace.

My fingers turned into hooves. My back grew a tail. My body morphed slowly, stretching and shrinking. I probably would've vomited if I hadn't kept my eyes closed.

The glowing died down as the process finished. I was much smaller than everyone else. McGonagall and Dumbledore examined my new form in awe.

"Go see what you've become dear. Over there, in the mirror." McGonagall spoke excitedly, which was very odd but nice to see.

I walked toward the mirror, but I was on all fours..... and my vision was much wider and clearer. Everything around me was bigger but easier to see. My hearing was a hundred times better and my sense of smell was better than it had been before.

I looked into the mirror to find my new form; a deer white as snow, a doe in fact. I examined myself closely and watched how I moved. It was peaceful but elegant, just like a deer.

My gemstone necklace glowed once more and I shifted back into myself.

"My animagus.......I love it! Thank professors! For everything!"

"You're very welcome dear! You've done very well in the past few months and we appreciate all your hard work." McGonagall said before continuing. "Come to us if you have any questions or concerns about being an animagus....with that necklace, you may now transform into 5 different species of animagi. I have arranged for you and Hagrid a spot in the forest for you to try them out."

" Alright Professor, I will. Thank you. I mean it."

"You are very welcome, dear. Oh and please, Go back to your dormitory when you are finished."

I nodded and walked out of the classroom. I headed to Hagrid's to meet up with him as McGonagall told me; once he spotted me, he leads me into an open area in the Forbidden Forest to test out my new animagus forms.

The first I tried was a white, sparkly doe. I trotted around testing out the feel of being four-legged instead of just 2. I jumped over rocks and fallen trees with such ease. I could also hear and see things that I couldn't ever sense as a human.

The second form I turned into was an eagle. It was a beautiful golden eagle, with green eyes(like mine instead of the usual yellow-orange color). I flew around gracefully, taking in the view of the beautiful landscape. The wind in my wings felt breathtaking, and every flap made me feel free.

I swooped down to the ground and morphed once again; this time I was a thin but sly ice blue snake; perfect for sneaking through small spaces. I also could sense a stranger by their thermal radiation.

Next, I morphed into a grey wolf. I was able to run really fast and could evade obstacles, this will definitely come in handy. I also could defend myself in case of any danger.

The final form required the last of my strength to take each form. I realized which animagus form Professor McGonagall rewarded me with.

I grew to become my favorite form yet; my hands turned into black scally claws, my back grew wings, and I became slightly taller than Hagrid, who was as shocked as I was.

"Tha' there's a very rare animagus, Rose! Better treat it well."

I looked at him happily before I flew up and realized, I am now a dragon. A giant, black, fire-breathing dragon; I couldn't have been happier. I flew around and had the time of my life.

"Oh my gosh look! I told you it was Rose!" I heard a voice from the forest.

"I know Hermione, I just can't believe it!", another voice spoke.

I flew down to find Harry, Hermione, and Ron who had taken notice of my new form. I morphed back into my human form as the trio watched.

"Wicked!!" Ron's faced lit up in awe.

I smiled at them before they came up to me.

"Rose that was so cool! I can't believe you are an animagus!" Harry spoke bewildered.

"Me too! It's not every day you can befriend someone with a gift like that!" Hermione added.

"Thanks, guys. I also can't believe it! But I wonder why I'd be given such a gift." I looked down at my feet.

"Aw c'mon Rose! Dumbledore obviously has a good reason why he gave you the necklace." Ron interrupted. "Maybe you won't know now but one day there may be a good reason for it."

"Maybe, Ron. But, I guess I'll just keep practicing my different strengths for now. One day at a time"

I finished talking before we bid Hagrid goodbye and headed back to the Gryffindor common room.

We chatted for a while before parting our ways and heading to sleep in our dormitories.
