A Reunion with Fluffy and The Trap Door

Harry's POV:

Rose, Ron, Hermione and I were finally ready to set out to go back to the 3rd floor. We met up in our common room before beginning to walk out.

Suddenly there was a noise.

Croak. Ribbit. Croak.

"Did.....you guys hear a toad?" I asked my sister and friends.

"Yeah, Harry, I heard it too." Rose agreed as the others nodded a yes.

We walked forward a step before a small familiar toad leapt on a chair near us. 

"Harry.....it's Trevor....Neville's toad.." Hermione confirmed.

"Yeah, I can see that." he turned to the toad. "Trevor, go! You shouldn't be here.."

"Neither should you." Neville appeared from behind the chair as well and stood in front of the four of us. "You...you guys are gonna get Gryffindor into trouble, again! And I won't let you, no matter what it takes...I'll fight you even if I have to." 

Neville put his hands into fists in front of his face.

"Neville, I am really sorry, but I can't have that happen..." Rose pulled out her wand and pointed it at him. "Petrificus Totallus!" 

Neville became completely frozen before Rose gently laid him on the ground near the fireplace, instead of letting him fall harshly. She put a quilt over his body and a pillow from the couch under his head. 

"Thank you for being such a wonderful influence, but we need to save the school." she smiled before getting up and tucking her wand into her pocket.

"I guess its for his own good if anything...." Ron spoke.

Rose looked at him and smiled. "Neville is too pure of a friend to risk losing. Better for him to be safe and under a spell than down that trap door with us."

We all admired Neville's peaceful state once more before setting off to go to the third floor.

We made it to the third floor after walking quite a bit before heading to the correct door in the Grand Stairwell. We went inside and made it over to the door that enclosed Fluffy before quietly, and as quietly as we could, we opened the door.

I expected Fluffy to immediately try to eat us alive again, but this time....there was a loud snoring sound and some lovely classical music. I opened the door further to find the giant beast fast asleep with the sound of a harp playing soft, peaceful music, enough to make the wildest of beasts to be but into a drowsy trance.

"I guess Snape's already been here!" I whispered. "C'mon, lets lift his paw from the trap door."

"Harry, no! Are you mental!" Ron whispered anxiously.

"Do you want to stop Snape or not?!" 

"Of course I do!"

"Then come on! We have no time to waste."

I was the first to walk over to the paw followed by my sister, and the others. Altogether, we lifted up the dogs paw and heaved it away enough to be able to open the door. Hermione and Rose worked together to get it open before we all sat down at the entrance. 

"Alright, promise me something guys. If anything bad happens, anything at all, I need you to get yourselves out. All of you. You hear me?" I instructed quietly. 

"We hear you Harry" Rose spoke as Hermione and Ron nodded in agreement.

Then I noticed how quiet it had gotten after a while. I looked at the harp in confusion. 

"Does it seem a bit....quiet to you guys.."

"UGH! Yuck!" Ron found some drool like goo on his shoulder and used his hand to try and wipe it off.

Grrrrrr.

Growling came from above us and my heart stopped. I looked at Rose before slowly looking up. Fluffy was awake and he was angry. The beast began to bark and snarl and try to get a hold of us. 

I suddenly felt my body naturally push Hermione and Rose down the trap door, before I felt myself be pushed in. Ron was the last one to jump in and land on a peculiar object.

A plant, made up of black, thick vines, covered the surface bellow us.
