Chapter 33: Tag Team

Kaito POV

Despite being sure of ourselves Mirio and I decided it would smarter to split up for an advantage. While Mirio took the direct approach on the ground I went above him on the pipes on the ceiling. I looked down as Mirio approached. "Excuse me gentlemen, but, we need to talk," Mirio said sweating. "You've got some explaining to do, why don't we talk about Eri?" I calmed myself and took a deep breath. "You shouldn't have been able to get here so fast," Overhaul said. "I took a shortcut, give me the girl, I'm here to rescue her."

"Now that you know the situation you decided to play hero, aye schoolboy? You were happy being ignorant when we met. Unfortunately, for you, this girl didn't want to come with you. You're no hero to her," Chisaki said calmly. "That's why I'm here," said Mirio. Overhaul sighed, "I'm not getting through to him, allow me to be clear. You're going to die down here." As he said that I saw Mirio start to go through the floor a little. In response, I focused and wrapped threads around my arms, hands, and my legs, and feet. 

Suddenly I saw Mirio stumble into a wall. "What the hell!?" I looked down the hall and saw a guy on the bottom of the pipes, he was talking but I couldn't hear him. He was drinking from an alcohol bottle and spilling it everywhere. "Obito who is that?" A file popped up on my eyepatch display. "Deidoro Sakaki, quirk sloshed, causes those around him to lose their equilibrium." Suddenly someone fired a gun at Mirio but he was able to get away in time, Sakaki crawled backward on the pipes and was next to the guy. "Shin Nemoto, quirk confession, if he asks a person a question he can force the truth out of them." I heard Mirio tell them his quirk and wondered if I should step in.

"Wait why am I not affected by Sakaki's quirk?" I heard a ding, "The reason may be because of your quirk or that you are somewhat artificial, your quirk lets you not get drunk or have the effects of being drunk. This may be the reason why you are not affected." I nodded and kept back, If I went in now it would ruin our chances of a surprise. I had to trust that Mirio could do it on his own. I decided to head forward and let Mirio deal with them. As I crawled on the pipes I heard Mirio beating them up. I saw Mirio slip into the floor as Chisaki and Chrono turned around.

"CHISAKI!" yelled Mirio as he came out of the ground, Mirio swung a fist at Chisaki narrowly missing, he kicked his foot through Eri only hitting Chrono. Mirio was able to grab Eri and back away from Chisaki a bit. "Please don't, go back leave me. Otherwise, he'll kill you!" Eri said in Mirio's arms. "I'm never going to let you down again Eri, I swear it. I am going to be your hero!" Mirio said.

I looked down as Chisaki stood up. "Filthy..." He brushed his face. "Come back here Eri. How many times do I have to tell you, It's your fault. You break people, that's just how you were born." Eri tried to convince Mirio again to leave her as I maneuvered behind Chisaki on the pipes. I wasn't listening to what he was saying but there was something that caught my attention. "I don't have any children." Then Chisaki disassembled and reassembled the ground into spikes trying to hit Mirio and Eri. Then he reshaped the room making me fall, I was able to land next to Eri and Mirio luckily. "Great, another pest," he said. "I'll protect Eri. You deal with this monster." He nodded and he ducked behind his cape as Chrono shot a few bullets. I dodged and avoided the bullets as well. I looked and Mirio was gone, I guessed he used his quirk to get the jump on them.

I saw Mirio come out of the ground and try to hit Chrono. I looked and saw the gun slide away, I decided it would be best to take care of Eri. Overhaul tried to attack but Mirio kept them busy. I knelt down beside Eri as Mirio beat up the villains. "That is a true hero Eri. Don't forget that." I smiled at her and laced my threads around my arms, legs, and chest. "MASTER!" My eyes widened as I looked over and saw Nemoto, who I thought was down for the count crawl through a crack in the wall. "NEMOTO, SHOOT!" Chisaki threw a box at Nemoto and I saw red capsules inside. "THE DRUG!?" I saw him line up a shot at Eri and jumped at him. "I WON'T LET YOU!" I screamed. Then... He fired the gun, and it went past me. I slammed a fist into Nemotos head and knocked him out. Then I looked behind me, my eyes widened.

"No..." I saw Mirio get hit with the bullet. I had failed to stop Nemoto in time. This was the consequence. "LEMILLION!" I screamed as he fell to the ground. "No, no no no no no no! I failed again." I smacked myself. "Stop, he needs your help now more than ever." I got up and saw Mirio throw Chrono at Chisaki blocking his vision. I leaped and started to fight with Mirio. Both of us fought Chisaki and did our best to avoid his quirk. We ended up getting beat pretty badly trying to protect Eri. I wasn't able to heal myself either during this because I was getting too exhausted. my legs were cut, I had cuts on my face as well and a spike narrowly missed the main part of my chest only scraping by but cutting me badly still. I looked over and saw Spiked going to Eri and leaped to protect her. I hugged her to protect her and looked behind me to see Mirio in a bit worse state than I was in, there were also spikes penetrating him.

"Hey look at me, you're going to be. Lemillions strong, he'll get through this." She looked at me with tears in her eyes. "Please, I don't want anyone to die." I hugged her again. "Try as they might, no one has been able to kill me yet. They haven't succeeded and I won't let them kill me now. I promise Lemillion will be fine, alright?" She looked at me with tears as I wiped them away. Just then a part of the wall got kicked in and Deku, Eraserhead, and Sir came in. Deku smashed Chisaki in the arm and sent him flying, I looked and saw Eraserhead disable his quirk. I smiled as I huffed from exhaustion. "Guess it's finally catching up with me." Mirio wobbled back and to the left a bit as Nighteye gave all three of us a hug. "Rest, I've got you now. You two were amazing. You found her. Mirio, Kaito." I looked back with a small smile. Though I also saw spikes form and Sir helped us avoid them. As the smoke cleared from the debris I saw Chisaki once more. This time he looked different. It was like he went into my carnage mode. He had four arms now and black lines throughout his body.

I was trying my best to stay conscious as Chisaki revealed Mirio's loss of his quirk. He then came at the four of us, I was able to stand in front of everyone, ready to take the brunt of the attack. Midoriya was able to distract him and take him away from us though. I was able to heal myself a bit and gain a bit more of my ability to stay conscious. Me and Sir launched and took over the fighting for Deku. "Stay back Deku! Let me and Sir deal with him." We tried to deal with Chisaki though the effort seemed to do nothing. Sir was trying to talk with Chisaki to get information while I tried to deal with the spikes he was sending. 

While trying to avoid the spikes and fight Chisaki I messed up. I saw Sir take a spike to the arm and the side. I stopped and that's where I messed up. "Sir?" Then a spike went through me and through my heart. I spat up a lot of blood, "LET ME SEE IT!" Sir yelled. I could feel tears rolling down my face as I looked and saw the other three looking at us. I looked back and saw Sir with a horrified face. "Sir?" he turned to me with an even more horrifed face. "I'm scared," I told him, then my eyes closed, a deep cold came over me as I could only hear the faint screams of my friends. All I could then see was white, it was a sad white though, and I couldn't open my eyes no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hear anything either. That made me even more scared.
