Chapter 35: A Lot of Goodbyes

Kaito POV

I started to wake up. I was leaning on a rock, I looked around and could see Ryuku lifting Uraraka and Nighteye to the surface through a giant hole. I spat up blood onto the ground. "Shit." I looked down and saw a spike through my heart. "No wonder I died." I had a feeling of what to do next so I took a gamble. I closed my eyes and calmed myself.

I raised my arm and covered it in threads, and thrust the spike out of me with a punch. I spat up more blood and fell over. This caught Ryukus' attention. "Crimson Moonlight!?" I looked up and saw her walk over to me in her dragon form. "Hey, good to see you." I propped myself up against a rock again. "What are you doing!? How are you even alive!? Your heart is gone as well as other organs!?" I coughed and looked down, seeing a hole in my chest.

I closed my eyes again and calmed myself. "I recommend you look away." She looked at me with worry and confusion. "Just do it please." She nodded and looked away. I calmed myself once more and concentrated. Slowly I felt the blood start pumping throughout my body again confirming my theory. I was then able to breathe again, then I felt just a sharp pain in my chest. Looking down I saw the hole was now gone and there was only a hole in my suit.

I sighed and relaxed. "Alright, you're good." Ryuku looked at me in shock at seeing the hole in my chest gone. "H-how!?" I stood up almost falling over but catching myself. I felt a sharp pain in my right arm. I looked over and saw a small chunk of it was gone as well. I looked at Ryuku again motioning to the arm. I closed my eyes and it started to repair itself. She looked at me in disbelief. "Rather not explain what I'm not quite certain about myself. All I know is that my heart is back and pumping." I tested my quirk once more and it worked. I sighed in relief.

I walked to Ryuku with my hands in my pockets. Suddenly I felt a pain in my chest along with a headache. I fell to the ground on my hands and knees. Soon the pain stopped but I felt a bit emptier than before. I stood up once more and held my head. "Is this the deal starting to take effect?" I sighed and continued to walk. "Are you alright?" I looked at Ryuku with a smile. "I'm fine. Now, what's going on? I don't see anyone." She nodded and explained what had happened while I was dead. I sighed and looked up the hole.

"Well, there's no way for me to help. I'm way too exhausted to use my quirk efficiently." I shook my head and looked at an opening in the wall. I saw multiple people walkthrough. This included: Tsuyu, Mirio with Amajiki carrying him, a few police officers, and Erasure's head being carried by Tsuyu. I smiled and waved them over. Tsuyu was very shocked to see me standing. "Crimson, how are you?" I shook my head. "Honestly not a clue. Are they ok?" She nodded. "We're all in a lot of pain but we'll live. You?" I nodded. "I have a pain in my chest and I'm exhausted with some cuts over the place. I'll live." Amajiki nodded. I sighed with a smile and looked at the giant hole above us. 

"Ryuku, can you get us up there?" I asked. Ryuku nodded and we all got on. She was able to get us up. I looked off the back of Ryuku at the scene in front of us. Midoriya was there and looked like he was at 100%. Uraraka and Sir were on the ground. Chisaki was reaching for Midoriya and Eri, although he was attached to some kind of gigantic monster. Chisaki reached for Eri and Midoriya, the monster was destroyed by what looked like Eri's quirk. Uraraka jumped up and grabbed Chisaki. All of us got off of Ryuku and looked at Midoriya as he seemed to be overwhelmed by Eri's quirk.

I looked and saw Aizawa move. Tsuyu picked up his head and he erased Eri's quirk. She passed out and Midoriya caught her. I sighed and smiled at the scene. "Finally. The mission to save a single girl was over." I held my side because it was hurting. After that Midoriya and Sir asked how I was still alive. I didn't answer them for, reasons. A lot of us were loaded into ambulances to go to the hospital to recover from our injuries.
