Chapter 2: Entrance Exam

Kaito POV

"BEEP... BEEP... BEEP... BE-" "SMASH" I smashed my alarm clock and got out of bed. "UGH, what day is it?" I questioned myself as I looked at the now smashed alarm clock that somehow still had the time and day. My eyes widened at the day and time, "SHIT IM GOING TO BE LATE" I shouted at myself now fully awake.

I got one of my casual outfits on after I took a shower and had a quick breakfast. I grabbed a small backpack where I put my clothes for the practical which was identical to the I had when I first left the hospital two years ago. I got my eyepatch on and ran out of my house which was more of a slightly larger cabin since there wasn't a bedroom and I slept on a pullout couch.

As I was running into the city and to UA I stopped for a second to take in the city. "Damn its been forever since I was last in the city." I finished taking in the city and then started my run to the school.

After around 20 minutes of running to the school, I stopped and looked at it taking it all in. "Damn this place is huge, I'd have to say it's taller than Mt. Lady," I said as I sweatdropped. I then shook my head and slapped my cheeks lightly "No, now is not the time to get nervous, I'm here like I promised uncle and I'm going to get in no matter what it takes," I said to myself to pump myself up as I began to walk into the school with a determined look on my face.

30 minutes later

I was on my way to test city A and was in my outfit I had packed earlier. During the bus ride, there was an ash blond-haired teen that kept yelling at everyone and I could already tell that no one liked him; though I wasn't doing much better, to be honest since I was getting weird look because of my eyepatch, even the ash-blond shut up for a minute when he noticed me with a questioning look. 

When we got to the mock city I sweatdropped at the size of the gate alone. As I was finishing up my stretches to get ready I let two of my threads that were on the thicker side wrap around my arms. The thread ends started to form two crimson red katanas. To anyone looking it probably seemed I had a quirk to form crimson weapons but actually at the handles of the weapons there was a thin thread connecting them to my back.

As the katanas finished forming I heard a voice come over a speaker from somewhere. "START" As soon as those words were said I darted into the city which had its gates open. I saw the ash-blonde also dart off at the same time as me. I refocused my attention back to getting points as I entered seeing three robots, one two-pointer, and two one-pointers. I was able to slash them with ease and continued running slashing robots as I ran with my katanas.

After 10 minutes of getting points, I had lost track of how many I had gotten but I was sure that time was winding down so I had gone up to the top of a building and just laid there waiting for time to finish.

In Observation Room 3rd Person

Everyone sweatdropped when they saw one of the candidates laying on top of one of the mock buildings. One of them sighed "Goddammit Kai." Everyone turned their heads to Toshinori. "All Might do you know this young man?" a rat, bear and dog-like creature wearing a suit asked. "Yes I do, that would be my nephew Kaito Izumura." Everyone had a face of slight shock on their faces. "I thought you didn't have any relatives much less a brother or sister." the creature said. "Well Nezu I don't have any blood relatives, you see he is adopted since he was an orphan." 

Nezu looked at Toshinori "You don't seem like you would adopt anyone for no reason, where did you find him?" asked Nezu. Toshinori looked down at the ground and started to speak "Do all of you remember the attack on the Tokyo airport two years ago?" Everyone in the room nodded and he continued. "During the attack, the villain was able to kill three people before he was able to get away but was soon apprehended and sent to prison for life." Everyone in the room already knew this so they all looked at him confused. "That's the official report at least." 

Everyone had a slight look of shock on their face when they heard this until Nezu spoke. "Only the first part of that was true wasn't it All Might," Nezu said having pieced what most likely happened there together. All Toshinori did was nod "That would be correct for you see that villain never did go to prison." These words made everyone wide-eyed as All Might continued. "The truth of what happened is that the three who got killed were the family of Kaito Izumura." A tired-looking man spoke up to this "Ok so we know why you made him your nephew but what happened to the villain?" He exclaimed. "Well, what do you think would happen to a 14-year-old if they just saw their entire family get killed in front of them?" he stated with a slight frown. 

After All Might said this everyone pieced it together on what happened and All Might finished speaking, "It's simple they lose control over their body sometimes and depending on their quirk they may kill someone." Nezu had a weird smile that crept some of the people out "Well then I think its time to start the real test shall we" he said and pushed a giant red button.

Kaito Pov

Suddenly I felt the building I was on start to shake and I ran to the edge and looked down the street. I saw a giant dust cloud and from it emerged a giant robot taller than the buildings. "IS THAT THE ZERO POINTER!?" I screamed in disbelief.

I saw debris falling from the nearby buildings and some were about to crush a person under it. Upon instinct, I used my threads to swing to the person and carry them away from the robot and set them down far enough away to be out of danger. 

I then looked back at the zero pointer and started walking towards it much to the protest of the other people who were yelling at me to get out of there. As I was not too far from the robot as I stopped and shouted "HEY YOU BUCKET OF BOLTS!" Everyone who heard this went pale when I said this. The robot looked down at me as its one giant red light for an eye started to glow a vibrant red.

I smirked, "YOU KNOW ITS NOT NICE TO ALMOST KILL PEOPLE SO HOW ABOUT I JUST DESTROY YOU?" I yelled as the robot started to pull back one of its arms and I started to unzip my jacket. As the robot thrust its fist at me a giant red X shaped column came out of my chest that went straight through its head and made it explode.

Just then an alarm sounded and a voice came over a speaker. "TIMES UP LISTENERS" As those words were said I zipped up my jacket and started to walk away leaving stunned people as I walked out and went home.

1 Week Later

I was in my cabin eating dinner when I heard a knock at my door. I got up out of my seat and opened my door to see a terrified mailman. He shakingly handed me a letter with the UA symbol on it. I grabbed the letter and nodded not saying anything as I closed the door. I went to my table and opened the letter revealing a small metal disk.

I pressed a button on the disk and my uncle appeared as a hologram. "UNCLE!?" All Might scratched the back of his head giving a sheepish smile. "Hello Kai sorry for not telling you but starting this year I will be a teacher for the first years at UA." I sighed but lifted my head moments later. "So how did I do on the exam" Uncle gave a huge smile "Well you passed the written exam with flying colors. As for the practical..." he started to tail off for a second but then gave me an even bigger smile. "Kai you have earned 57 villain points which are of course enough to get into the school." I looked at him with confusion. "Unannounced to the students there was a secret point system called 'Rescue Points' that candidates were also scored on." My eyes lit up with shock at this and then I calmed down as uncle continued.

"Kai you have earned 20 rescue points for not only saving someone from debris but also preventing any further damage from the zero point robot." A leaderboard showed up with me tied for first place with 77 points in total with someone by the name Bakugou Katsuki. "Welcome to your Hero Academia." with that the hologram turned off and I went to bed excited for when school started.
