Chapter 13: Sports Festival

Kaito POV

It was the day of the Sports Festival. All of Class 1-A was sitting in the prep room. Iida had just told us to get our game faces on and I was talking to Obito. "So, you think I can win?" I heard Obito laugh. "Are you kidding? You've been training to control Dragon mode and even enhanced it to a point I couldn't. I don't know if you can win, I won't lie to you dumbass this is going to be tough. What I do know is that you have worked hard and are willing to do anything so to answer your question. Yeah, I do think you can win but don't underestimate your opponents." I nodded and looked over to Midoriya and Todoroki.

"From an objective standpoint, I think it's obvious that I'm stronger than you Midoriya." I saw Mido gulp. "But you've got All Might in your corner. I'm not going to press into it but know this. I will beat you." I saw Mido just stand there and Kirishima tried to calm Todoroki down. "No Todoroki's right. Out of everyone he and Kaito have the best chance of becoming great heroes." Just then Todoroki cut him off.

"Speaking of Kaito..." I saw him walk over to me so I stood up. "Izumura, out of everyone here you are probably my biggest obstacle so I am also letting you know that I will beat you." I smiled and looked down at him. "Well, you got me there. Same to you as well. Also, you better go all out if we fight, you got that." Todoroki and I looked at each other for a minute and then we heard a voice and Iida had all of us start to leave.

On our way out I caught Mido. "Hey, don't push yourself too hard, you can't control your quirk yet so try and keep the damage to a minimum." I saw him nod and we went out into the stadium. As we walked out I heard Mic talking. "ARE YOU READY!? LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM AS OUR STUDENTS MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE STAGE." I could hear loud cheers as we started to exit the tunnel.

I exited the tunnel with Mido next to me and our class behind. "I'm going to keep my promise Uncle, I swear." I heard music play as Mic introduced us. "THIS FIRST GROUP IS NO STRANGER TO THE SPOTLIGHT, YOU KNOW THEM FOR WITHSTANDING A VILLAIN ATTACK, THE DAZZLING STUDENTS LIGHTING UP YOUR TV WITH SOLID GOLD SKILLS, CLASS 1-A!" Following us were the rest of the first-year classes and I was able to spot Shinso and waved. He saw me and gave me a slight wave as I refocused my attention to the stage in front of us.

I saw Midnight stand on the stage and swing her whip in the air. "NOW THE INTRODUCTORY SPEECH." I looked around and saw almost every boy in sight blush and every girl looks at Midnight with envy. "How is this allowed?" I saw Midnight swing her whip again. "Shut up everyone, now for the school pledge, Katsuki Bakugou."

I facepalmed and Obito did the same. "Oh god, this can't end well." As Bakugou walked up a silence rushed over the crowd. "I just wanna say... I'm gonna win." Not seconds later I heard boo's plus angry comments come over the crowd. I saw Iida scold him with his usual arm chops but quickly Midnight took control.

Midnight swung her whip again and a lottery-like screen appeared behind her. "Anyway let's get on with this shall we?" The screen started to spin and soon big words appeared. "Looks like we're going to start with an Obstacle Course!" Midnight explained the rules and all of us went to a tunnel leading out of the arena.

I stayed in the back and got weird looks from other students. "This is way to narrow to run through since everyone else will be. I'll use my threads and jump over them." I leaned down and pressed a small button on the top of my black boots I was wearing. "There, now I can use my quirk and my boots won't be destroyed." Then the signal to start came.

Just as I thought everyone was getting stuck. I smiled and latched some threads to the lining of the tunnel entrance. Just as I launched and flew over the crowd, ice covered the ground. "Todoroki." I saw Todoroki run out ahead and put ice in front of him. I landed and saw a few of my classmates also dodge the ice. "If I run on this I'm going to slip. Guess I'll use dragon mode a bit early to test it out." I started to run on the ice and the bottom half of my boots dissolved and outgrew crimson talons like a dragon.
