Kaito POV
I'm not sure how long I couldn't open my eyes. It felt like forever, it was confusing, to say the least. Finally, I was able to open my eyes. I opened my eyes and gasped for air, but I couldn't take any in. I was confused and scared, I looked around frantically for anything. Soon I concluded that I didn't need to breathe at the moment. Again, I looked around, more carefully than last time.
"White, it's all white!?" I didn't know what to do. I kept trying to wake up but nothing happened. I held my head with my hands, there was a ringing in my head that started. I couldn't help but smile and laugh. "Ha, ha, ha, ha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" I didn't know why but I felt like I was going crazy. "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HEAD!" I screamed. There was no sound and no response after that. Still, I kept laughing and laughing, I could feel myself going crazy.
It took a while but I was able to calm myself. "Alright, Kaito. Breathe, just breathe." Even though I couldn't actually breathe it still calmed me. I looked around again, nothing had changed. "Alright, think. What happened?" I tried to think about why I was here, then I remembered. I frantically looked at my chest seeing that I was fine. I sighed and looked up again. "I should try to move." I tried to walk but couldn't tell if I was actually moving. "Or not." I decided to stop trying to walk and laid down.
"Welp. Guess I died." I put a hand up and looked at it. "Sorry, Eri. I couldn't keep my promise." I put my hand down and closed my eyes. "What do I do now? Don't know where I am. Is this heaven? I don't know." I sighed and sat up. "I'm not one to give up normally. But I don't see a way of getting out of here." I looked at my hand once more and wondered. I tried to use my quirk but to no avail. "Guess not. Well, that's all I needed to know that I really am dead." I sighed once more and laid back down. "I guess I may as well think about some of the time I spent with my friends." I smiled as I started to remember.
Flashback
I set a dish into the drying rack as I started to wash the next one. It was after Nozomu and I had eaten dinner, I decided to start cleaning now instead of waiting. I smiled and hummed a tune as I washed dishes in the cabin. After a while, I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around and saw Nozomu standing there. "Whats up Gumdrop?" I asked as I finished drying the last dish. "Can I talk to you please?" she asked me. "Sure, let's go to the couch," I said as we walked over. I sat down and Nozomu sat next to me. She looked down like she was stressed. "So, what's up?" I asked.
Nozomu sighed and looked up at me. "I wanted to tell you about my Quirk," she said in a sad tone of voice. I looked down and smiled as I patted her on the head. "Alright, just know that if you aren't sure you can always wait. If you are, then tell me and I'll listen, I won't judge you for it either. No matter what. Alright, Gumdrop?" She hugged me tightly, I smiled and hugged her as well. "Thank you, daddy." She calmed herself and patted her face. "Whenever you're ready." She nodded.
"I don't really know what to call it. All I know is that I see things, things that others can't." I nodded, "Can you tell me more, I'm confused." She looked at me and nodded, trying to find the words. "I see things that can't be seen. Like emotions, I can tell what someone is feeling." I looked down and she looked really relieved. I smiled and patted her head. "Anything else?" She nodded. "I can see when someone is telling the truth, I can see footsteps, sound. There's more but that's what the big ones are." Nozomu said.
She looked up at me with a small smile. I returned it with my own, "That sounds really cool." Her face lit up with excitement, her smile widened as well. "Daddy really thinks so!?" I nodded, I could see stars in her eyes. "Do you think I could become a hero when I'm older?" I looked down at her. "Now that depends, you don't have a physical quirk so it's going to be hard." She looked down with a pout. "That being said. You can be a hero. You'll need to train a lot, learn combat skills as well. Though I'm sure that you would make an amazing hero." Her eyes glowed with excitement, she jumped up and down with joy. I smiled and we both laughed. I got up and picked Nozomu up, spinning around. "Now then my little hero. It's bedtime, alright?" She smiled and nodded. "Alright, daddy."
