It had been a few days since Sukara and Kuvira had taken Azaaro into their home and they had begun to experience his air bending. He was quite a powerful bender for a baby, even showing signs of bending ability would have been remarkable but he seemed to be able to produce wind, even if it was by accident.
They had decided to go to Air Temple Island, to see if Tenzin could offer any insight into his abilities. They sat around the table, Sukara next to Tenzin with Azaaro on her lap.
"And you say his father was an air bender," Tenzin said, leaning down to wiggle his finger at the baby.
"Yeah, apparently he was one of the ones that didn't want to join the air nomads," Sukara told him, "a big Zaheer fan."
"Huh," Tenzin scoffed, sitting back up, "good job you found a new home then."
They sat watching the small boy while the laughter and shouting of the kids came in from outside.
"Showing the early signs at this age would be quite impressive," Tenzin continued on to coddle the baby, "is there a way you could show me? Or is it more spontaneous?"
Sukara shook her head lightly and leaned back to let Kuvira reach over her. Tickling his nose a little with the ends of her hair, he made a small sneeze a little at the ticklish sensation. Causing him to send a soft blast of air underneath him, lifting him lightly into the air.
"Interesting," Tenzin smiled, clapping a little as he watched the boy float back down into Sukara's arms, "he shows great potential."
"Tenzin," Pema sighed, eyeing her husband's intrigued look, "he's a baby, you have to let him grow up a bit first before you start sending him through spinning doors."
"I know, I know," he said, sitting up properly, "I just know he will be a great air bender, I can feel it."
"Well, while you imagine training exercises, the rest of us are going to go down to the beach," Pema told them, "we're going to take lunch, everyone is welcome to come."
"That sounds lovely Pema," Kuvira said, smiling up at her.
"I made sure to ask Jinora to go get some fire flakes on her way over," Pema told her, bending down to grab something from the table as Kuvira stood up to follow her to see if she needed any help, "you did say that Zurin likes them, didn't you?"
"Yeah, he's nuts for them," Kuvira laughed, offering to take one of the baskets on Pema's arm, "I have no idea where he gets it. I can't stand them, and Sukara can't stomach them no matter how hard she tries. He's our little oddball."
"Every family has one," Pema chuckled, making her way through the door, "I don't think I really need to explain Meelo."
