Iroh and Sukara parted ways not too far from the docks as he went to get on a ferry to go and see Korra.
Sukara waved him off and began to walk into the city. Asami had given her a street name or number, she wasn't sure which, but she didn't want to look lost to others so she just kept moving. Luckily for her though, it wasn't long before she was beeped at.
"Do you actually know where you're going?" Asami asked as she pulled up next to her.
"Uh... No but, I had hoped that this would happen," Sukara smiled as she sauntered up to the car.
"You could've gotten lost," Asami laughed, as she got out of the parked car.
"Pfft," Sukara scoffed in a joking tone, "I don't get lost, I simply just know where I am at all times."
"Yeah?" Asami laughed, closing the car door, "but on a serious note, I'm gonna want some answers from you."
"Of course," Sukara assured her, "whatever you wanna know. I am an open book now."
"Why don't we start with why you're here?" She asked, folding her arms, "why didn't you just ask over the phone?"
"Oh, I have a new friend, you might know him, General Iroh," Sukara explained, "he wanted to go and see Korra but I decided against it."
"Yeah we've met before, he's helped us out a couple times," she said, unfolding her arms and placing one on her hip, "but he'll have a hard time getting to Korra, she doesn't want to see anyone."
"Really?" Sukara asked, a little confused, "that's weird."
"But true," a voice from behind said. It caused Sukara to turn rather quickly, she hadn't noticed Iroh catching up with them, "hey Asami. I got as far as air temple island before Tenzin told me that Korra needed rest and didn't want to be disturbed."
"Yep," Asami sighed, "I told Kai to come find me when he's done with his air bender duties. Come on, get in. I'll take you guys back to my place and we can catch up."

The group of young adults were sitting around Asami's rather large fireplace. Kai had come to join them not long after they got there along with Bolin who had gotten bored and wandered up to find his friend.
"So let me get this straight," Bolin said sitting back in his chair, "the evil avatar came all the way to Republic city just to check up on her friends?"
"I'm not evil," Sukara corrected him, he gave her a raised eyebrow because after the story he just heard, he hadn't entirely made his mind up yet. "And you guys literally could have died. I apologise for caring about the literal only people I know in the world."
"Oh yeah, you're like ancient," Iroh said, realising the position Sukara was actually in, "do you ever miss anyone?"
"Not really, I kinda came to terms with it," she explained, "and most of them weren't great people."
"What about your family?" Asami asked, frowning in concern for Sukara as she answered their questions.
"Uhh, well my mother tried to kill me, I suppose you could argue she succeeded," Sukara said, going through the members of her immediate family, "my brother, also heavily involved in that, maybe my dad. He wasn't the worst but, he didn't do anything to stop it so, he wasn't the best either. So no, not really."
"Friends?" Bolin asked, desperately trying to find an up in the story.
"They all left, and rightfully so, when I started the whole empire thing," Sukara continued to explain, "and anyone I knew during was worse than I was."
"It's alright, cause we're your friends now," Kai said, giving her a smile from the armchair he had curled up in.
"He's right," Iroh said, shifting forward on the couch, "you're not alone, or surrounded by assholes anymore."
He got a laugh out of the whole group for that one, but they all gave their agreement to the statement. Even Bolin, who's sympathy she had at least.
It was a precious moment that Sukara knew she would hold onto even as it was happening. The warm glow of the fire as the sun set and the friendly faces that sat around her. She tried to take it all in as the conversation changed to Bolin talking about how Opal's brother's girlfriend had some kind of idea to help the Earth Kingdom get back on its feet, and he was considering joining to help her.
