TW: bLOOoooooooooOOOooOOood, much pain, possession, much confusion
Xisuma caught the coin midair. He let it drop to the desk in front of him, the coin clattering until it rested. Xisuma held his eyes closed until there was silence. He cracked them open, the tension in the air feeling like it could crack his helmet.

Xamidimura screamed.
The void had finally made its move. He just didn't expect it to hurt so much.
For the first time since Xamidimura had been in the void, it seemed to gain gravity, just enough to make the sight more terrible for him.
It felt like his skin and flesh was tearing apart, then being glued back together with a makeshift plaster. And boy did that plaster sting. Heat ripped through his muscles, then ice cold, then he couldn't feel which one anymore.
His knees snapped up and he cried out, curling into a ball as best as he could as his muscles spasmed. One of his knuckles smashed against his face, and he felt thick blood running down from his forehead and nose, almost making him feel like he was crying. He wasn't in control. Maybe he never had been in control.
Xamidimura heard a guttural screeching sound and wondered who it came from, before remembering with an internal ah that he was the only one here
Alone.
A ripping sound, horrifyingly brutal.
Lonely.
A splash of blood seeping into the anti-gravity of the void around him.
Alone.
If that splash had been a sprinkle, it was now a downpour.
Lonely.
He could only watch. If the injury didn't kill him, the shock most surely would. Xamidimura knew the void was enjoying toying with him one last time, except this time it was out for death. He knew it wouldn't stop.
The blood was red, like his armor. It reminded him of Ex. It made him want to dry heave. It made him want to go back, but since he knew it wasn't possible, he let the pain take over.
He wasn't Ex.
He had never been Ex.
He would never be Ex.

Xisuma sighed, resting his head in his palms. It was done. All he could do now was monitor the code and hope for the best.
Suddenly, a flash of memory.
One time, when him and Ex had been alone together, surviving, Ex had discovered something. Xisuma remembered laughing as his brother pulled him along, letting himself be guided. He hadn't seen Ex this motivated or happy for a while, and that gave Xisuma. . . hope. Maybe Ex could pull through.
The sky was a lazy blue, only just darkening to gray to get ready for the barrage of colors to come. Ex made him sit on a fence that had been running alongside their builds since they had settled down. Trees framed Xisuma's vision as he peered at the horizon, squinting.
