Being with Hinata came easily to him, as easy as drawing his gun and letting his body do the rest for him. The trust is there, a bridge between them built of bright eyes and happy smiles and the warmth of a small body against his own.
Their first kiss is expectedly awkward, as it usually was with inexperienced teenagers, and was full of the taste of strawberries and gnashing teeth. Hinata had pulled Kageyama against him as if he had done so his entire life, just a missing puzzle piece finally finding its place, fitting snugly and happily into the previously empty slot. It felt natural and fated.
Everything felt different after, touches and movements too fast yet also too slow, too much and too little, and an unspoken promise woven between them. It was new and happy and warm and natural, the best time so far in all his fifteen pitiful years of life.
Many things were natural to Kageyama. The weight of his gun in his jacket, the feeling of knives on different parts of his body, hair the color of fire, wide brown eyes. They all come natural to him, and Hinata feels like nature to him.
They cuddle in the darkness of the bedroom on a rainy fall day, a break from their usual routine with no jobs to do or troublemakers to take care of. Hinata's entire body is warm, his arms gentle but secure as always in holding him. He fiddles idly with Kageyama's fingers, talking animatedly about something or another. Kageyama's silence and willingness to listen comes naturally, as it usually did.
His want to kiss Hinata comes naturally too, and he kisses the side of Hinata's neck with a gentleness that, while not so natural, is familar. Hinata's soft giggle is like a bell in his ears, clear and lovely and everything that Kageyama could have ever wanted.
A lot of things came natural to Kageyama, cold and darkness and cruelty and death. Hinata is of the happier variety, warm and bright and kind and lively.
Being with Hinata was second nature to him, brand new but also comfortably familiar, like coming home to loud words of welcome and the smell of dinner wafting from the kitchen.
Being with Hinata came easy to him, a natural feeling that pulled and tugged at him, and Kageyama allows himself to be strung along. There's so much to say, to laugh about and to kiss over. Kageyama is a greedy man, but Hinata is too.
They take each other's hands, the same hands that give each other so much life and happiness, and give in, silently gifting the other with all they could ever want.
