This took me a week, several blown fuses, and a whole lot of writing and deleting to do. I hope you guys enjoy it. Feel free to criticize. <33

"My name is Hinata Shouyo." The kid says, his eyes bright and his smile even brighter as he bounces slightly in place. "I'm happy to be working with you, Kageyama. Please take care of me."
He is left to sit there, gaping slightly, as the kid bows to him, as if he was a king sitting on a throne rather than a teenaged gang leader sitting on a bar stool.
The kid, Hinata, straightens quickly, then he's right back to staring at him with those big round eyes of his, the irises alight with a childish happiness. His smile seems even wider now, but Kageyama can tell that it isn't at all forced. This kid was genuinely happy to be meeting him.
Across the bar, Kindaichi meets his eye with a raised eyebrow, nodding his head at Hinata with a look of confusion. Kageyama knows that everyone in the bar must be stupefied. A tiny runt with fiery orange hair and brown eyes, with a dollar store camera around his neck and a pair of pink sunglasses nestled in his hair, walking into the bar all starry eyed like a kid in a candy store, coming face to face with an actual gang leader, and not appearing even remotely afraid.
What a strange sight indeed.
As he struggles to try and find something to say in response, Kageyama's head feels like it's going to explode. Although he usually tended to keep to himself and not talk much, the moments that he didn't were certainly a spectacle. He was loud, angry, and not at all hesitant to express himself if he felt the need, specifically with the use of violence. So to be rendered speechless by a child, and on his own territory no less, was a humiliation in and of itself.
"Ah, Hinata, I think you broke him."
Kageyama blinks once in shock, his entire body going rigid at the sound of another, deeper voice, and his hand is already reaching for his knife when he realizes that the voice belongs to the dark haired young man now standing next to Hinata.
The young man glances at Kageyama with even darker half lidded eyes and tilts his head to the side, offering him a soft, sleepy smile. He dips his head slightly in apology, but returns his gaze upward just as quickly. "I'm sorry." He says, his voice soft. "About Hinata. He can be... a bit much, I know."
Kageyama blinks again, then relaxes, his face slowly morphing into his usual frown as he contemplates the man silently. He didn't look anything special, clad in a simple dark gray jacket with a white undershirt and blue trousers, a camera (although much more professional looking than the kid's) also dangling from his neck and a black backpack hanging off his shoulders. He looks nothing more than a tourist, absolutely harmless.
"And who are you?" He questions.
The man continues to smile, his gaze never wavering from Kageyama's own. "I'm Ennoshita Chikara," he greets, complete with a small wave of his hand. "I'm Hinata's mentor, and guardian of sorts, at least while he's visiting the area here with me."
He waits a few heartbeats before speaking again, gesturing to his camera. "I made a deal with the leader of the gang around here a couple of years ago? Hinata and I document anything he finds suspicious in the form of pictures and journals, in exchange for protection from the local rival gangs during aforementioned documenting, among other things. Is there a man named Miyamoto here?"
Behind them, the guy manning the bar lets out a choked noise, and it takes most, if not all, of Kageyama's willpower to do the same. Around the bar, silence fell, and the members of his gang were left in awe, wide eyed and slack jawed at the seven words that left the man's mouth.
The silence lasts for only a few moments before all hell breaks loose.
The bar quickly erupts into chaos, his men shouting and cursing as they surge foward like a wave, collectively ready to tear this man apart for speaking to their boss in such a way. He meets Kindaichi's eye again, and Kindaichi dances out of the way so he doesn't get trampled, pressing his back against the wall with his hands held up noticeably in surrender.
Kageyama nods at him, then reaches into his pants and retrieves his gun. He makes sure it is loaded properly and aims it carefully at the ceiling. He counts to three, then shoots.
The gunshot roars through the bar with a deafening bang. Hinata screams and ducks behind Ennoshita. His gang immediately stops in their tracks, some falling over each other in their haste while others cry out once in surprise. Kageyama stares down at them with a raised eyebrow, his gun still pointed at the ceiling. They do not dare meet his gaze, scrambling backward fearfully, babbling apologies.
Satisfied that he had regained control of his men, he lowers his gun and shoves it back in his waistband. Hinata is crouched fearfully behind Ennoshita, his eyes teary and his mouth quivering anxiously. Ennoshita hadn't moved from his previous position, save for one arm now wrapped protectively around Hinata.
Kageyama exhales once, then levels Ennoshita with a grim stare. "Miyamoto is no longer here." He says gruffly. "I am the leader of this gang. So I'm afraid that you will have to take whatever business you had with him elsewhere."
Ennoshita's face was hard to read, his eyes dark and seemingly emotionless while his face was eerily blank. He stared at Kageyama for a few silent heartbeats, then, he tilted his head again, his eyes glittering. His mouth cracked into a smile. "Ah, I see." He says. "It's already begun then."
Kageyama's brow furrowed. "What?"
Ennoshita's smile widened at his enquiry, but he waves his free hand dismissively. "Nothing, nothing. Well, if you do not mind, I have a proposition for you, if you wish to hear of it."
He motions his head towards his backpack. "I have some things I think you might want to see." He holds up a finger. "However, you are not at all obligated to accept. Hinata and I can just leave and go back to whatever hole we crawled out of, and you'll never have to see us again."
Kageyama scowled at Ennoshita, both confused and annoyed by his behavior. "Stop attempting to be cryptic, you fucking weirdo." He snaps. "Are you threatening me?"
"Am I?"
He growls, clenching his fingers angrily so he doesn't reach for his gun again. "Don't mock me. I can kill you where you stand."
"Not if your precious Miyamoto has anything to say about it. I'm more important than you think."
Kageyama's eyes narrowed at his words, his scowl deepening. "What?"
Ennoshita is still smiling at him, but now it looks less friendly and more devious. He yanks back his jacket, revealing his neck and collarbone. Kageyama's eyes widen.
On Ennoshita's chest, nestled right between his chest and collarbone, is a tattoo. A tattoo of a wolf howling, with the words, Alpha's omega, curled below it in dark, neat cursive.
