I looked up from the paper I was writing on, filling out information that seemed like it was irrelevant. "Why's this matter?" I asked the guy behind the counter. He looked like he absolutely wanted to be anywhere else but here. His chubby fingers clicked away at the keyboard, and he stared at the computer monitor, ignoring my question.

I frowned then looked back down to the paper.

Name: Felix Knight             Birthdate: 01/26/****      Age: 22

Should I write the number out or is that okay? I asked myself, looking up to the man who I knew wouldn't help me. I shook my head and filled out the last question, which was when did you start your first semester of college?

I don't remember...

"Um..." I picked the paper up and turned it pointing to the question. He just took the paper. "Alright." He said putting the paper in a folder he had on his desk. I pursed my lips and tapped on the desk. "Um so..."

"You're done." He said looking me in the eye. I nodded. "Officially a college dropout." I smiled. The man rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure your mom is thrilled." He grumbled, looking back to the computer.

I nodded, furrowing my eyebrows as I walked outside.

She definitely won't be thrilled, neither will my dad but I'm bored of this, going to the same classes everyday, not knowing what exactly I want to do. It's not like I have bad grades, or no friends, or even nothing to do extracurricular wise. I have good grades, a lot of friends, a girlfriend and I do baseball and help out in some of the clubs but I just want something different.

I looked at my phone, deciding whether or not I want to break the news to my parents now or later. I'll do it later, but I should probably call my sister soon.

She won't care that I dropped out, she hardly cares about anything I do with my life unlike everyone else.

I wonder how she's doing.

I got a notification from the group chat I was in with all my friends asking me where I was but I didn't reply I just drove over to the pizza place we said we we're going to meet at. My friends knew about me dropping out before anyone else did, they looked at me like I was crazy at first but eventually they came to understand my reasoning.

My girlfriend still doesn't think I should be dropping out and this has caused some tension between the two of us but we'll work through it.

I decided to call my mom because I thought she'd be more understanding then my father but she didn't pick up the first time I tried to call so I tried again.

"What do you want, Felix?" She asked, sounding like she just possibly woke up from a nap. I sighed. "Nice to hear from you too." I frowned, rolling my eyes. "Anyways..." I said after she was quiet.

"What are you calling for?" She asked, like I wasn't allowed to call her except for important stuff.

Was this important?

"I guess it can wait." I huffed.

"I'm at the hospital with your sister, you can tell us at dinner tomorrow. I'm sure it's wonderful news." She said kind of sarcastically. "I'm sure you'll love it." I said clenching my teeth, half mocking the man from earlier. She sighed heavily. "Goodbye Felix."

I rolled my eyes and hung up.

My family's focus these days was mostly on my sister who was in the hospital for brain cancer. She got diagnosed just a couple of month ago and is currently going through treatments, a lot of them. I don't know much about it all but I know Felicity doesn't like all the attention on her.
