Ch 7 What are best friends for??

Kong returned all drained to Rome's dorm late that night and was surprised to see the whole gang there..

"What are u guys doing here??" He asked stopping with a skeptical look..

"Rome told us you just left and were upset about something..care to share??" Said Wad walking upto him and putting his arms around his shoulder..

"We can see ur totally drained..but it would be better to get it off ur heart now,than repeat it again later..but we ll understand if u don't want to"Rome also came and hugged him..

"If we couldn't be there for u in ur troubles, we wouldn't be ur frens Kong " said Em and joined the group hug..

Kong hugged them back squeezing them really tight.."thank you guys.." he said softly..

And they settled together spreading a blanket on the floor and piling pillows making a cozy nest to listen to his story...

And Kong told them his story..right from the start, not leaving any bit out...thankful for these ppl in his life..

"So the person who bumped into you was P'Kit? And he didn't recognize u?"it was Rome who broke the silence..his cheeks had tear streaks but his voice was stronger..

Kong nodded..

"Kong let me ask you something..Papa Jack never contacted u after tat day??didn't he have any explanation to give you for why he sent you away?? He couldn't have hated or believed you were guilty as he sent P'wave after u right?" Said Wad...

"He and mom came to see me the very next morning at P'wave's.." Kong said remembering tat last encounter with them, a memory he cherished..

" Papa was so broken he couldn't even look at my face..Mom was the one who explained wat happened..Uncle Philip had threatened to pull out his shares and make the other family members to do the same if they didn't send me away..Also he wanted Namtarn to be engaged to P'Kit tat very week for assuring tat the business stayed within the family..The little drama staged was for the grandparents..They truly loved me u see.."he smiled...

"Papa was in tears when he apologized to me, he even knelt on the floor..and I hated uncle Philip for making him like tat..I told him its ok and tat i don't blame them...Mom was also concerned about P'Kit's reaction.." Kong remembered wat he had told them to do for his sake...

" Papa can u convince the family to lie? " he had asked..
Papa looked confused..
"Tell P'Kit I am dead..."
"No..!! No Sing...don't do this..we ll work something out around this...Kit truly loves u..it ll really break him"mom cried..

"Mom this way, he ll only suffer for a few days..and then he ll move on..if he knows the truth do you think he'll agree to the engagement,? And if he doesn't wat will uncle do to get ur share of the company,??I don't want u all to get hurt mom..also the family u have kept together will break..I can't bear tat burden..it ll hurt grandma and grandpa to see u all fighting...it ll change P'Kit to hate his family...there's so many implications if u don't push me out fully.."

Mom had hugged me tight and cried so much..she wouldn't let go, the thought of never meeting me again, killing her.."when did my baby grow up so big?? Sing u ll always be my son no matter wat anyone says..and we know you ll never do anything bad.." and I had hugged her back letting myself enjoy my mother's love one last time..

"They had made P'wave promise that he would always be with me and even offered to fund my education.. But we both refused..Transactions can be traced and I didnt want any temptation to pull me back to them or them to me.. and I haven't met them since..I changed my name to kongpob using my mother's maiden surname..and my appearance "

His friends showed puzzled expressions at the word appearance...

So then, Kong removed his contacts revealing his golden eyes...

"Woww Kong, u just became 10 times more handsome...no wonder Namtarn was jealous..however beautiful she may have been she didnt stand a chance.." exclaimed Em..

Everyone laughed..the tensed atmosphere relaxing around them..
