Ch 54 Kao

The next day, Tay and Em sat at their room in the orphanage, watching the cctv feed following the 12 yr old as he went about his daily play..

The team had taken up the job of going through past cctv feed of the boy, entrusting these two with the job of watching him live..

They watched as the boy stood under a mango tree talking to his close friends, a small puny boy named Ayi and a little girl called Inta..Tay had recognised Inta as the one whose name was listed as a kidney donor to another kid in the list Arthit had provided..did Kao know this?

The children played ball for sometime then started running around the yard..after sometime the lunch bell rang and everyone went to wash their hands and assemble in the dining hall...

Kao went towards the wash room with everyone else but as he was near, he took a look around to see if anyone was observing him and sneaked into the dorm.. he reached his bed and delved into his pillow pulling out a bunch of papers..he then ran out into the yard, behind the building..there were no cctv's there so the feed was interrupted.

But Em remembered tat it must be behind their room, so they cracked open a window and looked out..Kao, they saw was climbing up an old Banyan tree, which grew some distance away near the wall, and then he stuffed the papers into a hole or something covering it with leaves again...he then climbed back down and ran to the dining hall..he had done all this in a span of 2 mins...

Tay and Em decided to raid the tree tat night..they were curious wat the boy was hiding tat he didn't want anyone else to notice..meanwhile Tay asked Lee's team to hurry up their perusal of the past videos to let him know if he had any contact with the bad guys...

Unaware of all this Kao was having his lunch..he had just hidden his latest clue. The image of a man who had come to meet the director last night.

He had found them talking just by chance, as he was coming out of the library before dinner..he was the last to come out as the others had rushed to eat once the bell had rung..not everyone was fond of reading like him..

Last night...

"The boss wants to push forward the dates of the transplants..something urgent has come up. He also asked you to be more alert. Don't trust the new comers and keep an eye on them . They are young master Arthit's friends. If they try anything fishy u can kill them, but make sure it looks like an accident..keep the kids healthy and well, in two weeks I ll come for them."

Kao had been about to come out,but once he heard transplants he had held back..he had read about them in a science kids magazine..but didn't tat mean tat they were gonna take parts from one person and put it in another?? He had read tat it was allowed on dead ppl who had donated parts. But the man had clearly said kids..he frowned peeping to see the man's face...

As the man walked away and the director turned towards the dining room, he came out and silently slipped in.

Ayi and Inta had saved him a place. It was their usual one so no one noticed how he got there..Inta was telling Ayi tat her caretaker had told her tat she was to go to the hospital tomorrow..she was nearly in tears and Ayi was trying to console her..

Hearing her Kao went completely still..his spoon stopped midway and he just stared wide eyed..

Now it all clicked together, healthy kids....hospital trips .... transplants.... they were gonna illegally steal his fellow friend's parts..and the kids were none the wiser for it..they were helpless, couldn't fight back nor did they understand wat was happening to them.. he was right from the start..only healthy kids went for weekly hospital visits..
