I decided to call Luke then. I dialed his number and held my breath as it rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Luke its Lia"
"Yeah I know, what's up?"
"I'm sorry for leaving but please just here me out"
"You left your stuff"
"Yeah I know I'm sorry. Okay so you know that guy you met in my apartment?"
"Yeah.."
"He's my ex. And he showed up at the rest stop to come get me and talked me into going with him. I don't know why I did honestly because I really want nothing to do with him. I really hope you don't hate me and I still want us to work"
The line was quiet for a minute.
"Lia I'm pissed. I'm not going to sugar coat it. What you did was shitty especially after promising you weren't going anywhere"
"Luke you have-"
"Let me finish, I know that sometimes you make shitty decisions without thinking though, and I am willing to forget what you did." He sighed.
"Thank you so much" I smiled into the phone.
"Alright well I have to get ready for the show but I'll talk to you after okay?" He hung up.
I set my phone in the cup holder and made my way back home.

"Let's go do something" I yelled through the apartment once I got home. "Something tells me you fixed it" Katie's voiced carried through the walls. "Sure did." I made my way to my room to put my stuff away.
"We could go to cafe and jam" Katie entered my room. I nodded and grabbed my guitar off out of the closet.
"It's been a couple of months" I said as we entered the small building. The smell of small coffee and baking filled the air. "Hey girls long time no see" Jack, the owner made his way through the tables to us. He pulled both of us into a hug. "We wanted to come play" I pointed to our guitars. "Sure but you know the rules. Only two songs" he winked and led us to the sign up sheet. We sat at the island and drank coffee while we awaited our turn. When Jack introduced us, the nerves that had always been there when I preformed filled my stomach. We played the introduction and my voice came out a little shaky. I closed my eyes, and as the song progressed, the people in the room became more blended together. By the end of the first song, my stomach eased and I was ready for the next.
"You guys did great, never missed a beat" Jack said as we said our goodbyes. "Thanks it was good to see you." I smiled. We made our way back to the car. "That was so fun" Katie said as she shut the drivers side door. I agreed and we started home. A warm feeling filled my stomach, things were finally starting to make sense. "We should stop and get something go eat". I nodded and we stopped at a subway. It started to rain, so I just went in to get the food. I took it to go and rushed back to the car.
When we finally got home, we ate our God and watched how I met your mother season one. "I'm glad you're happy again" Katie smiled after about the fourth episode. "Me too" I leaned my head back on the arm of the couch. Drifting off to sleep.
