Marielle, is the daughter of a British ambassador, he's sent to Washington D.C for deployment. Marielle's mother died a few years before, since her father would hardly see her, he wouldn't leave her in England even though she is about to finish high school, so he brings her with him, he however sends her to distant relatives in Boston, Massachusetts. He promised he would try and see her most weekends, but given his work, she is left with her ailing aunt, who teaches her about her long history. A history lesson that spans centuries. One that frightens her at first, but as soon as she learns how to accept it, she embraces it.
