24. Secrets Out.

• Lilac's POV •

Considering everything that has happened the last few months, i'm feeling pretty good about myself. I have great friends and family, plus i'm actually enjoying my classes now and that's all that's important.

Although there was one thing i was dreading. I haven't spoken to Fred since that little outburst i had and after all, it got awkward considering we are potions partners and can't avoid each other for much longer.

After breakfast i made my way to potions, the class didn't start for another 10 minutes but it always felt better getting to class earlier. I sat down at the end of the class and pulled out my book, a couple moments pass by before Fred walked in.

"Early again are we?" He teased.

"Oh. Hi Fred." I jumped.

We sat in silence for a few moments.

"Fred. I'm sorry about what happened before."

"All is forgiven darling, you know you're my best friend i can't be mad at you."

"Just like that?" I asked curiously.

"Like what?" Fred was confused.

"You forgave me that easily? after i was so horrible to you. I didn't know what had gotten into me it was like anger completely overtook me."

"Lilac. It's okay." Fred placed his hands on my shoulder and kissed my forehead.

I let out a sigh.

"..but just so you know, i still stand by everything i said." I cleared my throat.

"Understandable but just so you know, George doesn't want anyone else but you. He's completely mad over you."

"He's got a weird way of showing it." I laughed. "Besides i'm over that now, it doesn't bother me anymore i'm focusing on school and my family."

"Oh. That's good darling." Fred announced before he pulled me in for a hug.

Class began and everything was going good. Fred and I made a pranking potion so  whoever drank it had the ability to turn into an animal, but we still hadn't mastered it just yet.

"This is going to be amazing!" Fred shouted.

"Our best invention yet." I laughed.

"George would love this, i've gotten show him."

"I bet he would."

Moments later Professor Mcgonagall rushed into the classroom in a hurry.

"Miss Black, may you come with me please." She announced before everyone look over at me.

I quickly hop up and walk over to her. We both walk out of the classroom, as i struggled to keep up with her.

"Professor Mcgonagall, what's this about?" I asked with a sick feeling in my gut.

We walked into her office and she motioned for me to take a seat.

"Lilac, dear. Your mother is unwell, she's got a sort of muggle disease that is wizards cannot quite forgive out. Your father and I tried different spells but they all backfired. We didn't want to worry you until there was absolutely nothing else we could do." She explained.

A sense of fear washed over my body as i stared at her, trying to take in the information.

"How long has this been going on for." I asked.

"3 Months now." She sighed. "I'm sorry dear, we tried anything we could."

"I can't stay here. I need to be with my mother and father." I said before jumping up.
