• Lilac's POV•

"Remus! is my father dead?" I asked once again.

"I don't know what to tell you Lilac." His words rebounded towards me. A part of me already knew the answer to that. Another part of me didn't want to believe it.

"Please. Please tell me this isn't real." I said barely getting my words out.

"Lilac i wish with all my heart that i could do something about this." Remus said.

"That is my father!" I shout.

"He was my best friend for 30 years. Every best friend i've ever had, i've lost." He said.

"First my mum now him?" I cried.

Tonks rubbed my shoulder. "Sweetheart, no matter how distraught you get over this just remember the most important thing. They are finally together again and they will always be looking over you."

I know this situation is absolutely horrible to be in but what she said made sense. My parents loved each other more than anything and the fact that they are finally reunited once again puts my mind at ease. This still hurts but i need to be strong, for them.

"Thank you." My voice cracked. "All of you."

Fred, Ron, Harry and Hermione suddenly appear in the room and walk over to the kitchen.

"Ahh finally awake i see." Fred said as he pulled me in for a hug.

Harry, Ron and Hermione all gave their condolences and took a seat at the table. George moved his chair closer to mine to make room for Fred. I felt his hand rub against mine as he smiled at me. I attempted to smile back but felt a wave of fear wash over me.

"I- i'm gonna go to bed." I say before running out of the room. I rushed back to my dorm in tears as i sat on the floor near my bed.

I felt useless, weak and alone. I wish i could've done something for my dad. I heard a couple knocks at the door but i was too exhausted to acknowledge it.

"How are you feeling?" Remus asked standing in the doorway.

"Great. Just great, can't you tell?" I sniffled through my tears.

"Got a sense of humour just like your fathers i see." He smiled as he sat down near me.

I managed to let out a small soft chuckle. "I guess i do, don't I."

"Listen Lilac. I understand how difficult this must be for you and i know this will take time to move on but would your father really want you to be here crying over him."

"I don't know." I shrugged.

"Lilac." He gave me a puzzled look.

"I don't understand first a shield just appears infront of me as soon as i open my eyes and then she cast a curse at the both of us but it only managed to hit my foot. I'm just so.. confused."

"You have every right to be." He said. "The shield wasn't just an ordinary shield no, it was able to reflect any curse back to the person however you were shaking terribly which caused the curse to shoot right at your foot. Yes i know it doesn't exactly make sense but you'll understand everything eventually."

"I guess so but how did that shield just appear.. out of nowhere." I huffed.

"Oh no dear it didn't just 'appear' out of nowhere. Your father arranged for that to happen." He grinned. "He's always been sneaky that one."

"How did he do that?" I asked.

"Invisibility clock."

I gasped in disbelief. "He was hiding it! He knew what was going to happen way before it did so he planned it."
