22. The Final Task.

• Lilac's POV •

Cedric and I trained for hours today. We had short breaks and rests but then jumped straight back into it.

"You seem to have to hang of it. We still have time if you wanted to go through it one more time before dinner starts." Cedric asked.

"Of course! i wanna be as prepared as i can." I replied.

"That's the spirit!"

I ran through a bunch of obstacles and passed each of them.

"You're definitely ready! you ready for tomorrow?" He asked excitedly.

"Nervous. But i'm ready." I said.

"Don't sweat it too much. I'll be there with you, no matter what." He said. "You hungry?"

"Starved."

"it's 6:10 dinner only started 10 minutes ago we still have plenty of time."

"Let's go!" I said as i rushed inside as quickly as possible.

I open the doors to the great hall and everyone turns to stare.

"What's their problem?" Cedric asked.

"Oh this happens on the daily." I laughed as we made our way over to Cho.

"How was training! Tell me everything." She asked.

I let Cedric fill her in as i gulped down a piece of chicken, fries and grab a burger.

"... So i'd say she's ready for whatever is thrown her way." Cedric said.

I smile as i take a bite out of my burger.

I glance over at the Gryffindor table and see George staring over in my direction, i quickly look away and make conversation with Cho and Cedric.

"So how was your day?" I asked Cho.

"It was pretty good actual-" Cho said as i zoned out.

"... and then i just studied." She continued.

"That's great." I said. "Listen i'm really tired so i'm going to head up to the room to rest."

I get up and leave the great hall. When i get to my dorm i quickly shower and get changed before hoping into bed. I read a book for a while until i heard a knock at the door. I know it wasn't Cho because she told me this morning that she was staying with Cedric tonight. 1 other person came to mind.

"Lilac." I heard George's muffled voice through the door.

For fuck sake.

I wasn't in the right frame of mind to be dealing with him. I grabbed my earphones and blasted music on full volume just to block out his voice and the knocking of the door.

I took my earphones out an hour later and knocking had stopped. I turn the music off and lay peacefully in bed until i fell asleep.

The next morning i wake up bright and early and watch as the sun rises. It was beautiful. I hop in the shower and change into black shorts and a basic blue shirt. I couldn't let anything get in the way of today.

I walk to the entrance of the great hall and meet Cedric and Cho. We walk over as the food is brought out. I see George and the others over at the Gryffindor table. It felt weird not sitting with them. But it is what it is.

We sat down and ate before we had to go off.

"Hey Lilac. Cedric. Good luck for today. You guys will smash it out!" Fred said as he stood at the edge of the table.
