• Lilac's POV •

The next month passed by in a complete blur. The days grew lonely. I missed my friends, Cho and i had written letters to each other a couple times a well. She updated me on everything happening at Hogwarts and i updated her on the progress with my mum. On a positive note, mum seemed to be getting better each day which made me extremely happy.

Today was the day that mum was finally allowed to leave the hospital.

"Lilac, are you ready?" Dad shouted out from downstairs.

I rushed downstairs as fast as i could.

"Ready." I smiled.

Dad and I made our way over to the hospital where mum was waiting for us outside. I sprinted over to her and gave her a hug. She looked much healthier than before.

"Hello honey." Mum said.

"Hi mum." I shouted excitedly. "How are you feeling?"

"Much better."

"That's my girls." Dad said as he walked over and gave us a group hug. "Let's go home."

We made our way home. I felt my stomach rumbling loudly. I hadn't eaten properly for the past month. Ever since i found out that my mum was in hospital my mind was all over the place.

One night, all the adrenaline took over my body, i felt anger and fear. So i decided to pierce my belly button. It was a stupid idea.. but it worked. Dad was not impressed.

I took off my jumper and completely forgot that my stomach was showing.

Mum gasped. "Lilac! You got a belly
piercing."

"Oh." I laughed nervously. "Yeah."

Dad glared over at me.

"Dad wasn't happy." I giggled.

"Oh please." Mum said as she turned to Dad. "I had a belly piercing when we started dating, Remember?"

"Honey that was long ago."

"Oh Sirius. Give her a break, she's a teenager." Mum laughed.

"I'll let it slide. Just this one time." Dad grinned.

"Hungry?" I asked.

"Starving." Mum said.

"Sit sit. I'll make some lunch."

"What is it."

"A surprise." I said as i ran into the kitchen. "Don't come in."

45 minutes later and the strong smell of strawberry pancakes take over the entire house.

"Ready!" I yell.

Mum and Dad walk into the kitchen.

"This smells amazing honey." Mum said and Dad nodded in agreement.

I brought out a large plate stacked with strawberry pancakes.

"Strawberry pancakes!" Mum said excitedly. "You know, when you were younger I used to make this every weekend for you, George and Fred."

All of a sudden all the thoughts of George flooded back into my head. I hadn't thought about him, let alone seen him in so long.

"Those were the days." I smiled. "Things were so simple."

"Don't worry honey, it can always go back to that way." Mum reassured me.

After lunch i cleaned the kitchen and spent the rest of the afternoon with Mum and Dad. We watched movies which talking and laughing. It felt like so long since we had done this. I cherished this moment deeply.
