I was ready
Dressed up
Anxious
Hair done
Clean, Shaved, & Smooth
Even wore your favorite perfume
I was ready
Sitting in the dark
letting time tick by
waiting for the little hand to move and make it 11:45
You say hold on
So I do
I wait a bit more, I wait a moment longer
Try not to let eyes fall over and dreams come out & linger
The little hand moves, it is now 12:15
You say hold on
So I do
"20 more minutes and then we can go"
Little did I know 20 is actually 25
You don't need to say hold on
I already do
Too much time as passed by now, there's no point
And somehow I end up having the last word saying
"Alright then goodnight I love you."
