just when it was soaring
and staring at the sky above,
it hit a tree.
then it was...
just falling.
plummeting closer and closer to the ground
it's suddenly further away from the destination it was once so focused on.
on the way back down, it gazed at the sky
and they closed it's eyes—
as one does when bracing for impact.
but for a split second
it's little body turned,
back to the sky and face to the ground,
took a glimpse and frowned
the wires in its little brain started to fire
adrenaline starting pumping
fear was coming
but not of death, but of once again hitting rock bottom
suddenly the brakes were hit
the wings lift
and it began to soar again
but this time not letting the possible reappearance of another tree be forgotten.
