Chapter 36: The Study Session

Y/n POV

I arrived in front of Chaeyoung's house and checked my watch.

"Well, looks like I'm a bit early." I said to myself.

I looked at my outfit one more time before pressing the doorbell.

"Oh hey Y/n." Jihyo said behind me.

I yelped and whirled around, holding up a sword to her throat.

"Really? You know you're not powerful enough to defeat me." Jihyo said crinkling her nose before blinking.

The sword disintegrated in my hands and I looked at the dust flying away.

I cleared my throat and stood up correctly.

"I'm here for the study session." I said clearing my throat again.

"Okay. In there." Jihyo said and the door opened.

She walked inside and I followed her.

"Chaeng!!! Y/n is here!!!!" Jihyo shouted.

"Coming!!!" Chaeyoung yelled down and I heard the sound of footsteps.

She appeared at the top of the stairs and she ran down before stopping in front of us.

"Oh Y/n. Come on. You're just in time!!!" Chaeyoung said and dragged me up the stairs.

I waved to Jihyo and she smiled back at me.

Chaeyoung dragged me to a large room where a bunch of desks were set up in the middle.

Dahyun, Tzuyu, Mina, Jeongyeon, and Nayeon were already sitting at the desks.

"Oh. Better late than ever, Y/n." Nayeon said. "I thought that since you were a goddess you would be on time."

"Huh?" I said and looked at my watch then the clock.

Momo. I thought gnashing my teeth.

"Well that doesn't matter. Come on and sit down over there." Chaeyoung said guiding me to a chair. 

I sat down in a chair and looked at Tzuyu and Mina.

"I thought you said that you two didn't need help." I said to Tzuyu.

"Well......Chaeyoung forced us to come. You know how she is when she really wants something." Tzuyu said fidgeting a little.

"Mhmm." I said shaking my head at her.

"H-Hey! We're fine j-just as we are!" She exclaimed.

"Enough of that from both of you!" Chaeyoung scolded.

We both immediately fell silent and Chaeyoung said, "Good. Now. Let's start with the famous Joseon Era."

1 Hour Later

"And so, can everybody now name the kings of the Joseon Dynasty." I said to everyone.

"Ughhhh!" Jeongyeon said putting her head in her hands. "Yes. It's Sejong, Taejo, Yeongjo, Jeongjo, Sejo, Taejong, Yeonsangun, Seongjeong, a-and.....who were the rest?"

"W-Wait. I didn't mean every single on-" I said before Dahyun cut me off.

"Seonjo, Jeongjong, Danjong, and Hongjae." Dahyun said looking at me expectantly.

"Uhhhh.....I'm pretty sure some of those kings are wrong or in the wrong order." I said wincing. "Ummmm.....good try though? Maybe we should take a break."

"I know them all." Mina said quietly.

"Really can you name them?" I asked her and Mina recited the names of all the kings.

"Woah." Chaeyoung said. "I only know half of those names."

"Good job Mina." Tzuyu said and kissed her on the cheek.

Mina blushed and pecked Tzuyu on the lips.

"Ughhh! Not in front of my salad!" Dahyun said eating salad.

"Wait.....when did that get there?!" I exclaimed.

"Misdirection." She said and waved her hands in a wavy pattern.

We all frowned at her.

"Anyway, I'll call Jihyo to get some refreshments." I said getting up.

"No. I'll do it." Chaeyoung chirped and quickly got up before running out.

I looked at Nayeon, she was sleeping with her face buried in her book.

Wow. How did she make it this far? I thought and shook her shoulder.

"Nayeon. Wake up before I slap your butt." I said shaking her.

Nayeon groaned and said, "Kinky."

What the fudge?! I thought getting horrible flashbacks of my times with Sana. 

No no. Don't panic Y/n. You're safe right now. I thought to myself and calmed myself down.

I rubbed my butt though and looked to make sure Sana wasn't behind me.

I shook Nayeon again and said, "Chaeyoung is looking at you."

She instantly shot up, smacking my face with her head, and checked herself in the mirror and briefly before looking around.

"Chaeng?" Nayeon said.

I fell backwards and held my nose.

How does a normal human have such strength? I thought as I held my ruined nose.

I healed it quickly and stood up.

"Here's refreshments." Jihyo said walking in and smiling.

"Ooh. Cheese and crackers! And apple slices!!!" Jeongyeon and Dahyun exclaimed and stood up.

"Hey. I called first dibs." Chaeyoung said and held her arm in front of the plate.

Jeongyeon, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung started arguing while I looked at Tzuyu and Mina who stood up and started walking over to them as well.

Nayeon then looked at me.

"Wh-What's going on?" She asked.

"You were asleep. Be glad I woke you up or you would've failed the exams tomorrow." I said.

"Wait it's tomorrow?!" Nayeon said panicking.

I sighed and shook my head.

My head hurts already. I thought.

4 hours later

Everyone had left after the long study session, some (Jeongyeon and Dahyun) weeped as they left while others (Tzuyu and Mina) just had no expression.

"So guys." Chaeyoung said to me and Nayeon.

"How about a sleepover?" She asked.

??? POV

I landed on the ground, my wings making a whooshing sound as the air beneath became displaced.

"Where is the weapon?" I asked Irene.

She looked backwards and jerked her head.

A creature was brought forth, jerking and snarling inside its cage.

I smiled and turned around.

I'll get my revenge Y/n. I promise you that. I thought.
