Chapter 4: What is going on between Y/n and Jihyo

Y/n POV

I glared at her after Chaeyoung went into the car.

"You've been gone for so long and this is what you've been doing? You know how much chaos the realm was in after you left! You were the queen and you just left!!" I yelled angry. "We all were grieving too so we let you leave. But after a while, you didn't return. So we went to search for you but we never found you. Why? Why didn't you come back? And you let me be trapped inside that jar! I know you knew I was in there. Why didn't you save me?"

Jihyo remained silent and continued to look down.

I sighed and said, "We loved you Jihyo. You were like a mother to us. And you left and never came back. What was so interesting here that you never came back?"

"My husband died Y/n!! You expect me to just act like nothing happened!!" Jihyo yelled at me tears coming out of her eyes.

"Gods don't die! Their essences still remain and you can bring them back!!" I yelled.

"That's what I was trying to do! I searched for the fountain of life but it was dry. So searched and searched for other fountains but either they were dried out or they weren't there." Jihyo said.

"I understand you were grieving. We were too. But....you disappeared. You left us by ourselves without you. Do you know what happens when the most powerful goddess is gone? Our enemies became bolder and we had to fend for ourselves. That's why the fountains dried up. Our enemies devoured all of the life from them. I tried to save one you know. So I can bring him back. But they captured me and trapped me. You never came to save me. Why?" I asked looking at her.

"I was going too...." Jihyo said before looking at Chaeyoung who was singing. "But I saw something in her. She could fix what I couldn't even if I returned."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"You'll see soon enough." Jihyo said smiling weakly at me. "Tell me. What do you think of her?"

"Well.....she is a very interesting girl and very beautiful in my opinion. I want to get closer to her again and I want to protect her, but I DON'T LIKE HER! STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!!" I yelled as Jihyo gave me a look.

"I see." She said still giving me a look. "Well, if you want to marry her, you have my permission."

"W-what? Wh-who said an-anything about m-marriage? We're n-not even d-dating yet!" I stammered.

Jihyo just gave me another look before saying, "Then start dating so you can hurry up and get married."

"Wh-what? She's a m-mortal. I-I'm a goddess. It won't work out." I said shaking my head.

"Oh come on Y/n. You know gods have the ability to make a mortal immortal. That's not much of an issue." Jihyo said crossing her arms.

I sighed and rubbed my nose.

"Listen Y/n. I know you're in denial right now, but I know you like-no wait-love her." Jihyo said smiling.

"I. Don't. Love. Her. Like. That." I said gritting my teeth.

"Fine then, I guess you won't mind if I set her up with someone." She said.

"Who?" I said getting a weird feeling that made me really angry.

"Why do you care?" Jihyo asked examining her fingernails.

"I just wanted to make sure the person you're setting her up with is respectable." I said.

"Okay. How about that Nayeon girl?" Jihyo said.

"No." I said firmly. "She bullied Chaeyoung for 2 years and only stopped because I told her too."

"So that was you." She said. "She's really remorseful though. Maybe you should give her a chance."

"Fine. I'll give her a chance." I said sighing.

"Alright then." Jihyo said getting out her phone.

"Wait! You were serious!" I exclaimed.

"Is this Nayeon's mother? Yes. I would like for Chaeyoung to hang out tomorrow. That's great. I'll drop her off there." Jihyo said before hanging up.

I looked like a deer in headlights as I stared at her.

"She'll be meeting with Nayeon tomorrow at 3:30 after school. If you want to go stalk her again, make sure to get there a little earlier." Jihyo said smirking.

My mouth opened as I stared at her.

Suddenly, a small hand reached out and closed my mouth making me look besides me to see Chaeyoung giggling.

Chaeyoung POV

"You looked so cute with your expression earlier. You were frozen and just staring at Auntie." I said giggling.

She stared at me before smiling and saying, "Sorry. I just couldn't resist looking at your beautiful nanny."

I crossed my arms and poured.

"What about me?" I asked almost glaring at Y/n.

She laughed and cupped my cheeks making my heart start to beat faster.

"Of course you are more beautiful." She said.

I blushed hard and covered my face with my hands.

"Y-yah! You didn't have to say that in front of Auntie!" I exclaimed.

"Why can't I say that you are beautiful? It's the truth." Y/n said raising her eyebrow.

I blushed harder and ran back into the car.

I heard them laughing outside and I just hid my face with my bag.

After awhile, Auntie Jihyo got back into the car and started driving away.

"Our conversation from earlier isn't over Jihyo!!" Y/n yelled while glaring at Jihyo.

"Auntie. What is Y/n talking about?" I asked.

"Nothing sweetie." She said with a pained expression. "She was just joking."
