Chapter 21: The Rescuing Part 1

Y/n POV

"U-Uhmmmmmm........t-there going t-to t-the mountains!" I managed to stammer out as Jihyo towered over me.

The dark aura emanating from her only increased after that making the room tremble.

"The mountains." She said through gritted teeth.

"I should have known." Jihyo said in frustration and clenched her fists causing the air pressure to drop.

"Oww!" Nayeon said covering her ears.

"Sorry." Jihyo muttered and unclenched her fists making the air pressure return to normal.

"Where are they going?" Jihyo asked looking into my eyes with barely controlled anger.

"I-I'm not s-sure." I stammered. "T-Those guys only k-knew one l-location and t-that was not t-the main base." 

"Then where?" Jihyo asked her eyes starting to glow.

"I-I don't k-know!" I exclaimed raising my hands. 

"Please don't hurt me." I whimpered.

Jihyo sighed and closed her eyes.

"Uuuugggghhhh.....I shouldn't have been so distracted that I let this happen." She said rubbing her eyes. "I've just been so preoocupied with Sana and Momo that I didn't see this."

"W-What did they say to you?" I said still a bit frightened.

"Ask them yourself." Jihyo said opening her eyes. "It's not my place to tell."

"W-Wait!" Nayeon said pointing at Jihyo. "Y-You're a goddess t-too?"

Jihyo sighed and said, "Yes. I am the queen of the gods."

"T-The queen?!" Nayeon exclaimed. "S-So all this time.....I've been talking with the queen of the gods?!"

"Pretty much." I said and Nayeon gasped and backed up and tripped falling into my lap.

It would have been a cliche K-drama moment had that not caused me to feel the intense soreness again.

I yelped and squirmed, moaning in pain.

"N-Nayeon!" I managed to say through the blinding pain as it racked through my body.

"S-Sorry!" Nayeon said and moved a little but still didn't get off my lap.

Jihyo just looked at us frowning.

"Now is not the time for this!" She said. "We have to go rescue Chaeyoung!!"

"Yes ma'am." We both said.

"Y/n take Nayeon to the base...after your...recovery. Meet me there. I'll have some information then." Jihyo said before she vanished in front of us.

"W-What just happened?" Nayeon said still dazed.

As for me, I had largely managed to alleviate the pain by drinking some medicine that I had kept on my wheelchair for situations like this but it still hurt.

I let out a whimper before the pain subsided.

"O-Oh! Sorry." Nayeon said and shifted again.

"You can just get off my lap you know." I said.

"Yeah.,,,but I think my legs gave out from the shock of today." Nayeon said glaring at her legs.

I sighed.

I hope Chaeyoung is okay. I thought. At least until we can get to her.
