Steve aggressively knocks at the door at the small, suburban home.
"Hey," Sam opens his front door, looking at our debris-covered clothes.
"I'm sorry about this but we need a place to lay low," Steve informs him.
"Everyone out there wants us dead," I add.
"Not everyone," Sam opens the door more to allow us in.
"Thanks," I mutter to him as I hurriedly walk past him.

I take off my leather jacket and start to unzip my pants in Sam's room. I feel dirty and dusty as I am in desperate need of a shower. I take my army green tank top off, but instantly stop removing my underwear when Steve enters.
"Oh," Steve just stands there for a few seconds with my chest exposed before turning around. "Sorry."
"It's fine," I really do not care that he sees me topless at this point. I just remove my underwear and head straight to the bathroom. "I'm in the bathroom!"
I hop into the hot water and find myself leaning back against the wall. My breath is shaky and I have to breathe in and out a few times to calm my nerves. The stupid super-soldier serum could not have prevented panic attacks. The heading of those two newspapers repeats in my head. I struggle to determine which one bothers me more. The murder of two friends or the hundreds killed. I seem to not be able to get Howard out of my head.
*Flashback to the '50s*
I walk into the mansion with the extravagant party occurring inside. I look around at all of the strangers before recognizing someone I know. I walk up to Peggy and take the champagne glass out of her hand.
"That is mine," Peggy tells me as I gulp the sparkling liquid down.
"And now it is in my stomach," I smile at her before giving the glass to the walking around waiter.
"You look lovely," Peggy compliments my black off the shoulder swing dress.
"God, I hate this thing," I pat down my dress. "But Howard said formal-Oh, you look lovely too."
"Thanks," She laughs at me and looks down at her wine red vintage dress.
"There are my favorite two ladies," Howard approaches us with two glasses of champagne.
"Merci, monsieur," I happily take one of the two glasses.
"You're very welcome, ma'am," Howard chuckles.
"Careful," Peggy jokingly warns him. "She might steal the other."
"I need to load up," I tell them, pulling a croissant out of my dress. "I don't know how long I won't go without this stuff."
"Got another?" Howard asks.
"Just the one but here," I rip the croissant in half before noticing both of their faces. "Oh, you were joking."
"I've got more food if you want," Howard chuckles again.
"Good," I smile.
"Mae," Peggy grabs my attention. "We are going to the luncheon on Wednesday"
"With those prestigious and conceited bitch-I mean ladies?" I quickly correct my wording.
"Yes, with those...bitches," Peggy whispers the last part, looking around to make sure no one will overhear. "You'll go back in the ice the next day."
