(Request) The Plan Backfired- James

Request: Can I request one where James and the reader have a fake relationship to make Lily jealous but they catch feelings for each other?

It was the start of another day which meant another day of James pining over Lily and Lily ultimately rejecting him. Again. For like the seventh billion time.

Every day was the same and every day you and Sirius would joke about it. Sirius even went as far as to make a song about it which of course annoyed James.

You, Remus, Sirius and Peter were sat in the common room talking when the door slammed shut and an annoyed looking James came stomping in. "She did it again!" He complained.

Remus sighed, Peter looked concerned and you and Sirius gave each other a side glance. You were the first to speak as James came and sat on the floor in front of you all.

"What did she say this time?" You asked taking this a little more seriously then Sirius who was holding back a laugh.

James let out a groan. "Shove off Potter, I'm not interested." He said, repeating what Lily had told him.

"So the usual then?" Sirius laughed seeing him a glare.

"Shut up Pads." He spat before flopping onto his back and closing his eyes. Sirius bursts out laughing with Peter joining in too.

"Knock it off Padfoot." You warn elbowing him in the ribs.

"Ow." He mutters, giving you a look.

A silence settled over you all as you didn't know what to say next. James on the other hand just continued to groan and mutter to himself, questioning why Lily doesn't want to be with him.

Being already fed up with this conversation Remus cleared his throat. "Asking her out obviously isn't working so why don't you just do something else to get her attention?" He pointed out.

Peter then continued the thought, not that it had anything to do with what Remus was thinking. "Yeah, why don't you make her jealous?"

"Oh that could work." Sirius joined in. This caught James' attention as he then opened his eyes to look at his friends.

"That wasn't what I-" Remus went to say but then changed his mind. "How exactly is making Lily jealous going to work?"

Sirius smiled mischievously at Remus. "Jealousy always works my dear Moony." You rolled your eyes at Sirius, much like Remus did.

"Okay and who exactly is going to be the fake girlfriend?" You all go silent, looking between each other before you speak.

"I'll do it." You shrugged not really thinking anything of it. Hearing this made James sit up, his eyes lighting up.

"Hey that's... thats not actually a bad idea." He comments giving you all a pleased look.

Sirius clapped his hands.  "So it's settled then." He pauses. "Y/n will be the fake girlfriend." Remus rolls his eyes but at the same time couldn't help but find it funny.

It's been a couple of days since you and James started your fake relationship and to say it was funny was an understatement.

You were both walking down the corridor on your way to DADA when James spotted Lily talking to her friends. "Quick she's there." He smirks pointing to her. You nod your head.
