(Request) Be My Valentine?- Remus

Request: Hey, I don't know if you still take any requests, but if yes, could you do one where it's Valentines Day, and at the breakfast table the reader (who's good friends with the Marauders) just tells them that she doesn't count on doing anything special, cause she's been turned down to many times during just doesn't believe in herself anymore, and Remus wants to prove her that she's great (since he's crazy in love with her obviously...) I don't really know for the end, but they just end up together.

Ah if it wasn't your favourite day of the year, February 14th. Valentine's Day. The one day of the year where you couldn't take a single step around the castle without seeing something romantic. Whether that's all the decorations for the Valentine's dance thats happening this evening or all the Valentine's presents that the other students are exchanging with each other. You on the otherhand have no one to exchange a present with nor are you planning on going to the dance.

Rolling out of bed you reluctantly got dressed. Changing into your uniform. Once your shoes were tied and your wand was in your pocket you took a slow walk to the Great Hall for some breakfast. Given the time it was surprisingly calm, not too many people. As usual you gave the hall a quick glance to see if the Marauders were here yet and to your surprise they were. Remus was the one to see you first. He waved happily to you as your eyes landed on his. Smiling you waved back before making your way over.

Peter was stuffing his face with food as both James and Sirius were laughing their asses off about something. However, as you got to the table all the boys stopped what they were doing and looked to you. All of them had smiles plastered on their faces. Albeit Peter's was with a mouthful of food. Returning the smile you gracefully sat down beside Remus.

"Morning Y/n." He beamed as Sirius handed you a spare plate so you could have something to eat.

"Morning." You replied. You weren't sure what you fancied for breakfast and so settled with a couple slices of toast as your stomach grumbled. The boys all went back to what they were doing originally as you munched on your toast.

As expected the boys got onto the topic of Valentine's Day and if they were doing anything to celebrate it. Sirius was planning on asking Marlene to the dance this evening as James was going to attempt to ask Lily again. Peter said he had a date for this evening but wouldn't say who and so now it was just you and Remus who hadn't given their answers.

"Moony?" Sirius asked wanting to know his plans for later today. Remus glanced to Sirius before giving you a quick side glance.

"No not really." He shrugged. You stared at him but he only gave you another side glance before turning back to Sirius who nodded.

"Well Y/n, what about you?" James asks taking over from Sirius on the questions. "You doing anything special today?" The boys were all intrigued in what your answer would be, Remus more so.

Releasing a heavy sigh you lowered your head, letting your gaze drop to your lap. "I wouldn't count on it." You mutter. Remus' face dropped the moment you said those words but he remained silent as you continued to speak. "Valentine's isn't my favourite day so I'll probably just spend it up in my dorm or something."

"Why, how come?" Sirius asked confused by your answer.

Glancing at him you ran a hand through your hair before answering. "I just..." You trail off trying to think of the right words. "I don't see the point in it anymore. I could ask the whole school and no one would want to be with me for Valentine's so I haven't bothered this year." You explained as you looked to the boys. Sirius and Peter gave you sad smiles as James glanced to Remus, who's face was filled with heartbreak.
