Imagine: James is betrothed to the reader (Anne) but has a change of heart upon entering Hogwarts and meeting Lily. This prompted Anne to focus more on herself, to build her character and to become a great duelist. As well as this she's in Slytherin which makes it even harder for James to actually accept her until for the umpteenth time Lily rejects him for a date when Anne saw him. She meets James sulking by the Black Lake and sits down with him, advising him. This turns into an everyday routine where they come down the Black Lake to talk until James realised that he fell for Anne without realising it. Whereas Anne had always been in love with James since their betrothal ceremony when they were young.

A.N: I know this one isn't as long as the others have been but I hope you guys like it anyway.

Part II
------------

Seventh year was stressful enough as it is without the added pressure of regular homework and assignments. And to be honest, the professors didn't seem to let up on it either. McGonagall did to some extent but otherwise not so much. They're excuse being that this was practise for when you all leave Hogwarts and go out into the real world.

Out of all of the Marauders and their friends the only two who seemed to be okay with the pressure was Anne and Remus. And due to this James was able to convince Anne to help him with his Potions homework.

Grabbing her notebooks and exercise books Anne made her way to the library to meet her boyfriend.

------------

It took her a second to work out where James had hidden himself but she soon found him towards the back of the library. She couldn't help but laugh at how he was sat. His papers and books were sprawled out across the table with him face down on top of them. If she didn't know better she would have thought James was asleep. However, Anne did know better.

"Potions wasn't that bad." She joked walking up to him. Upon hearing her voice, James immediately lifted his head up off the table as if he was never sat like that in the first place.

"What?" He asked momentarily confused but then it clicked. "Oh yeah." He added upon glancing down at his work.

Laughing Anne placed her books down before joining him at the table. "We haven't actually done that much in class anyway this week so you're write up shouldn't be that bad." She says leaning back in the chair.

James on the other hand gave Anne a nervous laugh before clearing the table. "Yeah that's the thing..." He trails off. "I've not actually started it." He says rubbing his neck.

"You're kidding?" Anne questions raising her eyebrows.

"Nope. What with Quidditch and being head boy-" He explains trying to back himself out of the whole he made but it didn't work.

"James that's no excuse!" Anne cut off. "Potoins is in two hours."

"I know, I know." He groans.

"I'm not even going to start." Anne sighs refusing to get into an argument about this. "Come on, you better start writing this then."

Picking up his quill again, Anne began directing him on what to write. Grabbing her potions book she began reading it to pass the time or until James needed her help again.

"You should be at least half way through by now." She mumbles, her eyes never leaving the page she was on.

"I know. I am." James answers. And that's how it continued for a while. Anne would comment things to him about what to write and help him if he got stuck while James replied with either a "thank you" or an "okay".

Turning the page on her book Anne soon stopped reading upon getting the feeling of being watch. She tried ignoring it but it didn't work.

Lowering her book, she glanced up at James. Low and behold he was staring at her. "What?"

"You're eyes are beautiful." He awes, staring at her like a love sick puppy.

Staring back for a moment, Anne looks down at his work before going back to reading. "Your work would be beautiful too if you weren't drooling on it." She points out.

"Oh shit." Snapping out of his daze he quickly uses his sleeve to wipe the drool off of his homework. Thankfully it didn't ruin it. All Anne could do was roll her eyes and shake her head trying not to laugh.

There was a moment of silence before James spoke again. "Can I not just copy what you've written?" He groans going to take her notebook anyway.

Placing her hand on her notebook she stops him. "And get into trouble again? No I dont think so." Anne retorts. "Besides you're nearly finished anyway. You have like two more paragraphs left." Nodding, he sighs and retracts his hand. Going back to writing his work.

And as if predicted, within about 15 minutes James had finished his homework and sent a pleased smile to Anne. Although, it must be said that the only reason James finished so quickly was because Anne gave in and helped him finish it.

"You're a life saver you know that right?" James comments giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"So I've been told." She laughs giving him a goofy grin. Packing up their things they leave the library to go grab their bags from their respective dorms ready for Potions.
