Request: This might sound like a kind of dumb idea but could you do a Marauders x reader with tourettes or a stutter? I don't see many of them :)

A.N: I've gone with the stutter option because I personally don't feel that I could give a tourettes one the justice it deserves. But prehaps that's something for me to work on in the next book. who knows? That being said I hope I've done this stuttering one justice. If not please tell me and I'll correct it.

------------

The room was quiet, the only sounds to be heard were ones of scratching caused by the ink dipped quills the students were using to scribble down the words of their Professor. You've always perferred writing and taking notes then speaking in class. You would choose it over speaking any day. You could write words easily, it wasn't a problem, but to actually speak them aloud now that was a problem. It wasn't that you couldn't say the words, you could, but for some reason your brain and your mouth just weren't on the same page. And it frustrated you greatly.

"Does anyone know what type of spell Depulso is?" Professor Flitwick asked. Everyone shook their heads not knowing the answer. Flitwick nodded. "Miss Y/l/n, any guesses?" He asked again directing his attention towards you.

You gulped, you really didn't want to speak because you knew your stutter would make an appearance. James, who was sat beside you, gently nudged your arm urging you to speak. Your speech impediment wasn't something you went around telling people which meant some people knew about it and some didn't. And the people who didn't where the Marauders amoung other students in the classroom.

Having glanced at James you turned back to Professor Flitwick before nodding. "It's a b-b-b-ban." You paused taking a breath, everyone was staring you. You knew what you wanted to say but your mouth just wasn't cooperating. Your throat tightening upon trying to force the words out. "It's, it's a, it's a b-b." You stopped again, internally groaning. "Banishing ch-charm Professor." You finally said. Taking a deep breath to calm your nevers you leaned back in your seat, your eyes focusing on anything but the shocked faces in the room.

Having not known about your stutter Flitwick was proud nonetheless that you managed to say the words. "Well done, miss Y/l/n." He praised, offering you a kind smile. One you quickly returned when your eyes flicked towards him.

The rest of the lesson continued without a hitch, Flitwick choosing not asking you any other questions. He saw the discomfort that was etched on your face when you were answering and so didn't want to put you through that again.

The only problem now was that everyone who didn't know about your speech impediment, did now and ever so often kept glancing towards you. This was the case with the Marauders.

The moment class was over and you all left, the boys were quick to catch up with you. "Hey Y/n." James called. You ignored him, you knew exactly what he was going to ask. "Y/n." He repeated but this time standing in front of you so you had no choice but to stop.

Crossing your arms you raised an eyebrow at him. The other three standing in front of you as well. "I didn't know you stuttered." He asked.

"How come you didn't tell us?" Remus stepped forward. You could see it in their eyes that they were concerned but all you did was shrug.

Sirius opened his mouth to speak but before he could some students walked past mocking your stutter which drew your attention to them. "L-l-l-look at me I can't t-t-t-talk properly." They laughed staring directly at you. You looked way ashamed where as Sirius growled at them causing them to scamper off pretty quickly.
