I woke up the next morning to the lovely news that it was a Saturday. I walked down the hallway in my pajamas and knocked on Jeremy's door. I heard a tired groan. I sighed and opened the door. "Rise and shine Jer!"
"What?! It's a Saturday, come on!" He said as I opened up the curtains. "What the hell, Nora?!"
"You realize how high you were when you came home last night, right?" I said accusingly.
"I wasn't that- oh..." he sat up with his head in his hands. "I said something stupid, didn't I?"
I rolled my eyes. "'Parental authority. I like it.'" I mocked imitating his voice. "You were so stoned last night, Jenna threw an apple at you and you hardly flinched."
"Crap..."
"You're lucky you only got a warning." I said.
"Are you going to that comet thing?" He asked.
"Maybe, maybe not." I shrugged. "I might just walk around town with Charlie."
Jeremy smirked. "Ooooh, okay... you and Charlie have fun then."
"Ugh, not you too." I say. "I am not in love with my best friend!" I say, storming out of his room.
I decide to go to the dumb parade in town because why the hell not? Elena and Bonnie are handing out flyers and Caroline is staring at some guy. "Who's that?"
"Oh, hi Nora. I have no idea who he is, but he's pretty damn hot." Caroline says, barely taking her eyes off of mystery guy.
"Why is he standing like that? He looks like he's either about to commit a felony or lead a kick line..." I say.
"Well I think it's hot and mysterious." She says.
"Okay then. Go get him tiger..." I pay her on the back and walk away, leaving her to chat it up with mystery guy.
I walked around until dark before I finally found Charlie in the crowd. "Hey, how's it going?"
"Just waiting for the comet." Charlie says, obviously bored.
"Do you wanna go somewhere less crowded? I can barely hear myself think." I suggest.
"Sure, lets walk around." He smiles. I smile back. And we did walk around for a while, before we bumped into Matt. "Hey, man. Are you okay?"
"No, not really. Have either of you seen Vicky?" He asked. He seemed concerned.
"No. Do you need help looking for her?" I ask.
"Yeah, if you guys don't mind." He said. We both nodded. The three of us walked through town calling her name. So far we didn't have any luck. Matt said he had already asked Stefan but he hadn't seen her anywhere either. As we circled around town a second time, there was no luck. We went inside the grill to see if she was maybe stuck in the bathroom or a closet or something. As we walked into the grill, something weird happened. My necklace started faintly glowing again... it was probably just the reflection of the lights again. Suddenly, it stopped. We all looked over to the door to the back part of the restaurant as it opened. "Vicky!" Matt ran to hug his sister. "Your stitches... are you okay? What happened?"
"Took some pills, blacked out. I'm fine now. It doesn't even hurt anymore." She said, slightly monotone. She hugged Matt and smiled. "Sorry for worrying you guys... Stefan actually found me wandering around... I guess I was pretty high."
"Well, I'm glad you're okay. I should probably get home." I said turning around to leave. I said my goodbyes and walked slowly down the street back home. When I got home Elena and Jenna were raiding Jeremy's room for drugs. Then Elena said she had to go do tans blah blah blah, I was too tired to pay attention past that point and just collapsed in my bed.
I was woken up less than two hours later, when a loud slam of a door came from Jeremy's room. I rolled my eyes and got up. Looks like I'm on heartbreak duty. "Hey, what happened?"
"I don't wanna talk about it..."
"Lemme guess... Tyler Lockwood happened?" He reluctantly nodded. "Okay, get up."
"What?"
"Get up and get your shoes on. We're going to ding dong ditch the Lockwoods." I said simply. "Come on, we'll take Jenna's car and everything."
He smiles and gets his shoes on. We sneak downstairs and out to the car and then drive all the way to the Lockwood mansion. I was riding shotgun as we pulled up right in front of their unnecessarily large front door. I hopped out of the car, rang the door bell and ran back to the car as we sped off. Yes, I know, it was petty and childish. But sometimes petty and childish is exactly what you need when it comes to these things.
