"I don't think that's a good idea." Bonnie says as Caroline stands up.
"Oh, come on! Let's summon some spirits! This Emily chick has some serious explaining to do." Caroline says.
"I mean... it could be fun. Plus, Bonnie, you can't exactly call the ghost busters on a necklace." I say. Caroline nods and smiles.
Next thing you know we're in Elena's room, sitting around some candles and the necklace, with all the lights turned off. "What are we doing?" Bonnie asks.
"I don't know." Elena says skeptically.
Caroline shushes them both. "Be quiet and concentrate." She snaps. "Okay, close your eyes." We all close our eyes. "Okay, now take a deep breath." We all take a deep breath. "Bonnie... call to her."
"Emily..." Bonnie starts. "You there?"
"Really? 'Emily, you there?' That's all you got?" Caroline says
"Fine! Jeez..." Bonnie takes a deep breath and exhales. "Emily... I call on you. I know you have a message. I'm here to listen."
We wait for a while before the flames abruptly grow twice their original size.
"Did that just-"
"Yeah that happened..."
We all feel chills. "It's just the air conditioning." Bonnie says reassuring us. The flames grow again.
"Ask her to show you a sign." Caroline says. "Ask her!" Bonnie doesn't do anything. "Emily! If you're among us, show us another sign."
Nothing happens. "See? It's not working." Bonnie says. After a couple seconds the window bursts open. "No! I can't! I'm done!" Bonnie puts out the candles. "Get the light! Please get the light!" Elena runs to the light switch. "You guys..." Bonnie looks down at the candles. We follow her gaze. "The necklace. It's gone."
We looked all around the room for it. Under the bed, on the shelves, on the dresser, even behind the mirror. It was nowhere to be found. Elena gets up from looking under the bed. "Okay, fun's over Caroline. You made a point, and I get it. Now give it back."
"What? Well I didn't take it!" Caroline says. Elena looks into the hallway. "What?"
"I don't know. Nothing." She walks out into the hallway. "Jeremy? Are you home?"
Bonnie walks into the bathroom. "Umm... guys?" We turn our heads in Bonnie's direction and walk towards the bathroom. Bonnie is in the bathroom and bends over to pick something up. Oh my god. It's the necklace. Suddenly the door closes and we all scream. The lights start flickering as we try to get the door open. Suddenly, everything stops. The door opens and Bonnie is wearing the necklace and is standing up with her head in her hands.
Elena carefully steps into the bathroom. "Are you okay?"
She slowly stands up straight, lifting her head. "I'm fine."
"Unbelievable." Caroline says. "You were totally faking it."
"Caroline, come on." Elena interjects.
"No, you scared the hell out of me!" She says, furious.
Elena sighs and turns to me. "You okay, Nora?"
"Yeah..." I say slowly. "That was... that was kinda freaky."
"Bonnie?" Elena looks at Bonnie.
"I'm fine." She says, oddly monotone. "Everything's fine." She walks past us.
I take a deep breath. "I'm not the only one who thinks that she's acting weird, right?"
"Nope..." Elena says. She follows Bonnie as she walks downstairs. "Are you okay?"
