Fool Me Once

I woke up the next morning to see that I was on the couch. Well, we were on the couch. Charlie had one arm around me. Don't worry, we didn't do anything last night. We kissed a few times and then fell asleep. I looked around and saw that Jenna was leaning against the door frame. "You guys are adorable."

"Jenna!" I whisper yelled, no wanting to wake Charlie. "What the hell?!"

"Hey, I've only been here five minutes."

"Still weird, Jenna." I say, carefully getting up. I look at my phone for the time. 10:30 AM. Usually Elena would be in the kitchen eating breakfast already. "Where's Elena?"

"I don't know. I think she went to Stefan's house." Jenna says. "Want any eggs?" She starts walking to the kitchen.

"No, I'm good, thanks." I decide to call Stefan. If what happened last night had anything to do with Damon, which it probably did, she definitely wouldn't be going to the Salvatore Boarding House overnight. "Hi, is Elena with you?"

"No, she was kidnapped."

"What?!"

"I know. I'm trying to find her now. Don't worry."

"Don't worry?! How can I not-" He hung up on me.

Charlie started groaning awake. I think he saw the look on my face. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm fine." We just sit and talk for a while before Jeremy comes through the front door with a smile on his face. "Ooh, what's got you so happy?"

"I've got a date to Dukes party." He says. "Hey, you two should come too. It's in the woods by the old cemetery."

"I'm down." Charlie says, turning to look at me.

"Uh... sure!" I say. I really shouldn't go to a part while my sister is missing, but Stefan said he would handle it... so I guess I should try to have fun. 

Charlie went home to get ready and I did the same up in my room. I put on jeans and a black slim fit t shirt. I look in the mirror and... well I definitely look good. I don't often wear tight clothes with low necklines so this feels weird. I mean, I knew I was going through puberty and shit but... yeah I'm gonna change.

This time I have a tank top and an off the shoulder knit sweater with the same jeans. I put on some sneakers and go down stairs to leave. I meet Charlie outside and we both ride our bikes to the woods for the party.

There's a bonfire and beer and about a hundred drunk teenagers. We didn't really know anyone there other than Caroline and Matt, and they were doing there own thing. That's when I saw Elena and Damon go off into the woods. That can't be good. "Hey Charlie." I nudge his shoulder. "Look."

"Since when are Elena and Damon all buddy-buddy?"

"I know right? Let's follow them."

"Wait, wha-" I pull him by the arm deeper into the forest in the direction that Damon and Elena went. We found  them in the doorway to the tomb along with Stefan, Bonnie and her grandma. "What is that?"

"It's a tomb with a bunch of old vampires." I explain. "They're gonna open it."

"And why are they gonna open it?"

"To get Katherine and then kill the rest. Katherine was Damon's ex by the way." I explain. Bonnie and her Grams start chanting in another language. I think it might be Latin. The door opened. Damon went through the door and Stefan started climbing out of the entrance to get gasoline.

"Nora, Charlie, you can come out now."

I sigh and step out from behind the tree, pulling Charlie with me. Charlie looked at him in confusion. "How did you...?"

"I'll explain later." I whisper to him. Then I turn to Stefan. "So what can we do to help?"

"You could get the matches." Stefan suggested.

I pulled a lighter out of my back pocket. Charlie gave me a look. "What? I stole it from Jeremy's room. We're at a party, it's good to be prepared."

"Alright. You two go down there, I'll get the gasoline and then we'll light this place up once Damon and Katherine are out."

I nod and Charlie and I both go down into the tomb entrance. Bonnie and her Grams are surprised to see us at first. "Wait where's Elena?"

"She went in with Damon." Bonnie says.

I'm thinking of getting mad but honestly if they wanna make stupid decisions, it's not my problem. Soon Anna barges in and they let her go in no problem. I'm still pacing the ground waiting for them to come out of the tomb. Stefan comes down with a big flame thrower. I guess we don't need the lighter anyway. "Where's Elena."

"She went into the tomb with Damon."

"What?!" He starts to go in.

"Wait!" Grams stops him. "We opened the door but we didn't lift the seal."

"What seal?"

"Well, some are know to keep vampires out. This one... keeps them from coming out.

"Elena's human. She can leave." Stefan says. "Anna and Katherine can't. Damon can't You were never planning on breaking the spell, we're you?"

"I told you. I will protect my own. Elena can get out. That's all that matters."

Suddenly we hear a scream. Elena's scream. Stefan ran in. "Stefan!" Bonnie exclaims. "You can't just leave him in there Grams!"

"He made his choice!"

"No." She ran to get the grimoire. "Here. Just tell me what to do. I'll do it!"

"We are not strong enough. Even if we were able to bring the seal down there's no garentee that we can get it back up again!"

"You said it yourself. Many things can fuel a witch's power. Help me! Or I'll do it alone." Elena runs out of the tomb. "Elena, Stefan..."

"He's right behind me." She turns to see Stefan stuck in the doorway.

"It's gonna be okay." Bonnie says. "We'll fix it."

"What is it?"

"There's a seal on the doorway keeping him in." I explain.

"You went in there not knowing if you could come out?"

"I heard you scream..."

"We can't leave him in there. We promised him, both of us." Elena said, referring to Damon.

"Even if we're able to break through the seal, we won't be able to hold it for long." Grams says.

"So be quick." I add. Stefan nods and runs back into the tomb. Bonnie and Grams start chanting again. I see blood trickle down their noses. The flames start flickering.

Charlie gets up from where he was sitting. "Wait, what's happening?"

"I think they're running out of time." I answer, not taking my eyes off of the door.

Finally, Elena, Stefan, and Damon all run out. There's a collective sigh of relief as we all leave the tomb, even Anna and her mom. It turns out, she just wanted her mom back. I can respect that. Maybe she's not such a bitch after all. When we leave the tomb I see Jeremy on the ground, unconscious. "Holy shit!"

"He's okay."

We all look over at Damon who pretty much just lost all hope. Elena walks over and hugs him. And then Elena drives me, Charlie, and Jeremy home.

In bed at about two in the morning, I wake up, gasping for air. Something happened. I don't know what but something is seriously wrong.
