"Scum ball." Jenna says as the news played on the tv. "Scum bucket." Apparently the animal had been caught, which lifted a weight off of everyone's shoulders so everyone seemed a lot happier this morning.

"Who are you talking to?" Elena asks.

"Him." Jenna points to the news man, Logan Fell. Yep, cheating asshole Logan Fell.

"The news guy?" Elena asks skeptically.

"Also known as Logan 'scum' Fell." I say, watching from the kitchen.

"Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?" Jenna turns to Elena.

Elena laughs. "Oh, no way! You and him?" She looks back at the TV. "He is cute..."

"He is not cute! There is nothing cute about him." Jenna turns off the TV and looks at Elena who is cleaning off a bunch of family heirlooms. "What are you doing with that?"

"Mom promised Ms. Lockwood a while ago that she could use them for the founders hall museum." Elena explained.

I turned back to my toaster waffles. I wasn't exactly that interested in the topic since I had already learned all there was to lear about the history of the town. Well, almost all there is. The founders have this meeting every week and it's super secret. No one even gets to know what the meetings are about. Then door bell rings and Elena goes to answer the door. I take this as an opportunity to steal a sip of her coffee. Once she comes back I have to stop myself from laughing. She doesn't even notice as she goes upstairs with Stefan. Once they come back down, they are both smiling at each other. "Wow, that was fast. 15 minutes congratulations." I say. "You had time for protection, right?"

"Nora!" Elena and Jenna scold at the same time. Jeremy couldn't stop himself from laughing though.

"Uh... we didn't..." Stefan trails off.

"It's fine." I say, laughing. "I do not need to know." I finish my waffles and put my plate in the sink. "I'm gonna be in my room."

"Okay." Jenna says. "Remember you're on dish duty today!"

"I'll do it after lunch!" I say, running up the stairs. Once I get to my room, I sit on my bed and check a text I got from Charlie.

Look out your window

I roll my eyes and walk to my window to see Charlie waving from his bedroom. Our houses are right next to each other, and our bedrooms are parallel, so we can communicate via window if we wanted to. I laugh and grab a piece of paper. I write something down and fold it into a paper airplane. I throw it right into his open window. 'Come over for lunch?'

He looks up and gives me a thumbs up. I laugh and leave my bay window, closing the curtains, to change out of my pajamas and into jeans, and a sweater. I walk downstairs and hear the doorbell ring. That's weird. It's not even noon. Jeremy goes to answer it to see Tyler. This should go well. At least he's not here to pick a fight. Elena gives him the box of stuff and Jeremy and Tyler exchange some impolite words. Elena ends it and finally the door is closed again. Elena walks over to where I am and sits next to me on the couch. "I don't know what I'm gonna do with  him..."

"At least they're not at each other's throats anymore." I say.

Elena scoffs. "Not yet." It was true. Something was bound to go wrong at the founders party. "So what're you doing?"

"Dying of boredom until noon." I say, slumping in my seat.

"Good to know you've got a schedule down. What happens at noon?" Elena asks.

"Charlie's coming over for lunch." I answer.

"Ooh..." Elena grins. I send her an annoyed glare, but she only laughs. "You should ask him to go to the founders party with you."

"Look, I know just about everyone sees us together, but me and Charlie are just friends, okay?" I say tiredly.

"I know." Elena starts. "But it's either, Charlie, your best friend, or listening to Bonnie rant about weird witchy stuff the whole time, or hang out with Jeremy who will only be focused on how much of a dick Tyler Lockwood is."

"You make a good point." I say, looking down. I was unable to stop the frown from creeping onto my face.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Elena puts a hand on my shoulder and turns to face me completely.

I turn to face her. "I'm just worried about Caroline." I say. "Damon's an asshole, and she just doesn't see it for some reason."

"Ugh, don't remind me." Elena says with disgust. "Her smiles are even more fake than ours."

I chuckle. "Ha, yeah..." The doorbell rings. "I'll get that."

Elena smiles and raises and eyebrow. "Ooh, okay. I bet that's Charlie..." I roll my eyes. "I'll leave you two alone then..."

"Very funny Elena." I said, walking to the door.

I can hear her telling Bonnie, "Alright lets go to my room! The lovebirds are invading the kitchen!"

I roll my eyes again, but I can't help but laugh. I open the door and Charlie is leaning on the doorframe. "Hey Nora!"

"Hi!" We walk to the kitchen together. "So, lucky for us... I found some leftover pizza in the refrigerator!"

"Nice!"

We ate and we talked and everything. It was fun. A nice break from what had happened last night before the football game. And yes, we are a whole pizza. It was pretty damn good too. I threw the box in the recycling bin and turned to see the sink full of dirty dishes. "Aw, crap..."

"What?"

"I'm supposed to do the dishes now... you don't have to stay if you don't want to..."

"No it's fine, I'll help!" He walked to the sink and grabbed another sponge.

"Thanks, Charlie." I smile at him. I don't even try to object because the amount of dishes in this sink is completely overbearing. We start washing dishes and I see him rinsing our a bowl. "What are you doing?" I laugh.

"I'm washing." He says obviously.

"Umm... not like that you're not." I say, taking the bowl and demonstrating. "A sponge isn't gonna do anything without soap, you weirdo!"

"Who says I wasn't using soap?"

"Well you weren't using enough soap."

"Yeah but-"

I accidentally squeezed the soap dispenser a little to hard. The soap went onto his shirt. We both stood still, eyes wide, neither one of us making a sound. Then, at the same time, he grabbed the detachable hose of the sink and I grabbed the soap bottle. We both laughed as we got each other wet and soapy. So far he was even more wet because I had turned the water onto him. I turned around to grab a wet sponge, but felt two arms around my waist. He picked me up and spun me around as I screamed in amusement. We were both laughing hysterically by the time he put me down. I even slipped on the soap that had been spilled on the ground. I screamed out of genuine fear cause I used hear all the time about people who have literally cracked their heads open in this exact type of situation, but he caught me. His hands were on my waist and my arms were around his neck. We stood there for a while...

I finally regained my sense of reality. I cleared my throat and pulled my arms back to my sides. He did the same. We both lightly laughed. "Oh, uh... I was gonna ask if you wanted to go to the founders party with me... y- you know as like, friends... it's just really boring to go alone..."

"Yeah, sure." He said quietly. "As friends..." he murmured.

I smiled. "Uh, cool! I could probably get us a ride with Elena and Stefan later."

"Cool!"

"Cool."

"Umm... if I'm going to the founders party, I should probably go get ready." He said.

"Right! Me too..." He leaves to go get ready and I go upstairs to Bonnie and Elena. "I'm gonna need an outfit quick!"
