"What's this? Do you like me?" Kyung Woo finally asked Min Ji after she had asked him about his ankle for the umpteenth time. He was probably tired by all the constant question about his injury the whole morning. "For the last time, I'm fine."
I yawned as I watched them talk, waiting for their them to finish talking a class picture. Turning my attention back to Ja Rim who remains to have a blank expression.
Last night, we managed to find her sitting sitting alone in a nearby tree and after I told Kyung Woo to leave us, we didn't really get to talk much about what had happened. In the end, I was able to convince her to go back to the dorm. She agreed and I accompanied her.
In the dorm, it was only Min Ji who hadn't slept and waited for Ja Rim to be back.
I guess she didn't really want to talk about it.
I could only watch in worry as Ja Rim left the group quickly after the picture was taken. Sighing, I followed close behind her.
"Is that her?"
"Yeah, honestly she's acting like a spoiled brat, she isn't that pretty."
"Right! that's what I said."
The whispers of the other students made me shoot them a glare. Noticing this, they quickly scurried off, nodding their heads for what I can say is a fake apology. They were in the same class as Joo Young and me so I guess they're angry at what she did.
"Ja Rim," I called, she didn't turn around so I stood next to her. "Are you okay?"
"I'm just tired," She replied finally looking at me. She didn't say anything afterward as she continued to walk to their bus leaving me to watch close by.
A sudden appearance of the bowl cut haired princess made me raise an eyebrow. Despite everything that had happened last night, Joo Young seemed unfazed as he jumped in front of Ja Rim with a smile.
I guess it's great that the sad look on his face last night was no where in sight.
"Ja Rim, drink this on your way back," He said handing her a juice box.
So he hadn't given up.
I followed Ja Rim's glance to her side, noticing the others looking at us and muttering something under their breath, no doubt something about Ja Rim. She swallowed before ignoring Joo Young and entering the bus.
Joo Young's smile quickly faded as he looked at Ja Rim's back.
Putting a hand on his shoulder, I gave him a soft squeeze. "She's ah..."
Attempts of comfort failed to leave my tongue as I find myself unable to give a reason that couldn't possibly hurt him.
What can I say?
"Look, she's just not really interested."
"Today's not really a good day comsidering what you did last night."
"She's not really fond of boys like yo-"
How could I even know that.
"She just needs time," Was all I could say.
He nods his head letting out a small 'yeah' before turning to face me. As if nothing happened, he took my hand and placed the drink he had bought for Ja Rim and walked off. His steps a little off from probably his best attempt to look unbothered.
Walking after him, Min Ji and the rest come up to me.
"What's wrong?" Min Ji asked.
I looked at their bus and back at them. "Nothing."
