Chapter 23: Unwanted Visitor

At the court.

I read the last message of Wang Ja Rim. She had to go check on Gong Joo Young who had been messaging her to come to see him. In the end, she gave in and decided to cheer for him.

But for some reason, she needed me to accompany her. Despite me finding reasons not to go, she managed to convince me to come. So here am I walking towards the court that Ja Rim told me she would be.

That was until I saw her walking with her head down and walking away from the court. Calling her name, she looked at me as I walked towards her.

"Where are you going?" I asked when I finally reached her. "The court is that way." The look in her eyes tells me that something is going on. This only made me more curious about what had happened.

"Did you and Joo Young fight?"

"No, but.." She told me, "I can't face him now. Can you check him for me?"

"Why does it have to be me?" I asked. I truly didn't know what was going on and if I just go there, I'll probably end up scolding Joo Young for hurting her if he ever did.

"Then why should it be me?" She looked at me almost pleading that I had to go.

I sighed before turning my head and headed to the courthouse. Joo Young and the rest of the guys were there and it was only then I started to understand why Ja Rim was acting that way.

Choi Jung Woo was with the boys, they must have seen each other.

"That's why I told you I'd give you some tips." I heard him say. Maybe I was too nervous or shock that I just stood there processing this situation. Eventually, Joo Young saw and called me.

"Where did Ja Rim go?" He asked.

"Over there." Regaining my senses, I pointed to the direction I just ran from. "If you run you might catch up with her." Knowing that Wang Ja Rim tended to walk slower when she's in deep thought, I could trust Joo Young to catch up.

Joo Young thanked me before sprinting off to where I pointed. Not wanting to be here, I also turned to follow but Jung Woo said something that made me stop doing so.

"Oh, this day is quite interesting." Just hearing Jung Woo's voice sparks anger deep inside but I have to control it otherwise he'll only worsen the situation.

"Annyeong, Cha Yoo Na. I heard your break up with Seo Jun was because of me." Not a single consideration for my feelings nor what is happening, he asked such an unrelated topic. The worst way to start a conversation.

Scoffing, I looked at him giving him a glare before asking, "How special do you think you are?"

As I was about to say another word, my gaze fell upon the people behind him and realized that Kyung Woo and the rest were standing nearby. I had to control myself from showing any shock or uneasiness. They've heard something they shouldn't but I also trust they wouldn't speak of it.

"Think whatever you like, but our breakup had nothing to do with you." Ignoring what he has to say next, I turned around and left the scene.
