When Gobber interrupts the two the next time they have a map in front of them "Here are the ships lass" Stoick says handing a leather bag to Elena, who places the ships at different places "Okay due to the lack of my ships, still weird to say that, I'll use the... Outcasts for that" she says "So we know the location of Dagur's ships and mine, they are under strict order to only listen to me" "We can also safely assume the Edge is compromised" Hiccup says "What else do we know?" "Our Night Furies should be used as backup plan" Elena mumbles "Crystal Island is safe, mom patrols daily". Gobber clears his throat, so the two look at him "Right, I promised to help out this morning" Hiccup says, so he follows Gobber after pressing a quick kiss to Elena's forehead "Now you're just making use of the fact I'm shorter!" she calls after him, but Stoick chuckles "Finally passed the awkward phase?" he asks "As if Spitelout didn't tell you" she mumbles "Aye, you two really made him uncomfortable" Stoick says "Which was the plan" she points out dryly. They reinforce Berk and Snotlout gets watch duty, which he's really happy about, until he sees one of the ships, the main ship, and uses a telescope to see who's on board, he frowns seeing Astrid and Drake talking to Viggo "Hiccup" he says finding him back at the planning table "Why is Astrid on that ship?" "What?" Hiccup asks, shit, she wasn't supposed to come there yet "Astrid's heading here, with Viggo and Drake" "Astrid's coming here?" Elena asks and she looks at the book of dragons on the table "Of course! They need the book of dragons! It has everything we learned so far from the dragon eye" "We can't just hand it to them" Hiccup says "And burning it is out of the question too" "I know where we can hide it" Elena says "The mountain hideout, it's dusty, a mess and an obvious hiding place that Viggo doesn't know about". They hide the book and plans and life continues. "Astrid lass, where have you been?" Stoick asks when Stormfly lands "Oh you know, spending time with Drake" Astrid says "Come on Hiccup, it was hilarious" Elena says entering the forge "Yes, except for the fact it could've blown up in your face" Hiccup says, that earns him a guilty look "Sorry, but it didn't, soooo". Astrid peeks inside and sees Hiccup put down the sword to cool down before turning to Elena and hugging her, mumbling something Astrid can't hear, but Elena responses with a slight nod before burying her face in her boyfriends shoulder "When did that happen?" Astrid asks "While ago, Spitelout found them in the cove, hasn't gone there since" Stoick answers. "Hiccup!" Fishlegs yells "What is it?" Hiccup asks looking over, but not releasing his hug, which throws Fishlegs off a bit "Eh well... a Skrill is about to attack and I don't mean Drake's Skrill". Flying over to Berk at top speed is indeed a Skrill and Hiccup drags Elena and Fishlegs out of the building "Midnight!" Elena calls when her dragon flies passed and she pets the Night Fury "We can't win" she says.

They can only watch as Hiccup's house gets hit by lightning, but it doesn't stop there, no it hits other buildings too "So now what?" Hiccup asks "Well we could lure it away" Elena offer "Through a thunder storm" Hiccup mumbles "Let's do it". They head off, so Astrid starts looking for the book of dragons, but she can't find it "We're back!" Hiccup says "Did you trap it again?" Fishleg asks "No, we didn't, we let it go free" Elena says getting of her dragon "Because trapping it again is what caused it to attack in the first place" Hiccup explains. Astrid follows the two around, hoping they get the book and they know that, so they're making the best of it "And that's why you never start a prank war on my island" Elena finishes one of her recent stories while sitting on a table in the forge, the heat in the building making her put her jacket away. "So you don't usually go exploring on your own?" Hiccup asks earning a shrug "I'll always have Midnight, but no, not usually, takes the fun out of it" "When I'm done with this we could go looking for interesting islands near Berk" "Really?", Astrid walks off, knowing those two are useless right now, so her next stop is Fishlegs, who's as useless as the other two, exchanging letters with Heather, so after another day she gives up, never once thinking about the mountain hideout that had been Elena and Drake's home. "Nothing" she says landing on the ship "They wouldn't have destroyed it" Drake says "I searched everywhere", but Drake scans the island for any riders and he sighs "It's not at the Edge, not on Berk. Beserker island?" he asks "That's out next best option I guess" Astrid says.

When they sail off they fail to see the two Night Furies watching them "We gotta remember that" Elena says when Midnight unfolds her wings "Dagur ready?" Hiccup asks when the two land near the group "Yes, but please tell us the next time you have a plan like this" Fishlegs says "Duly noted" Elena deadpans "But we didn't in case it took a turn for the worst" "Good thing too" Stoick says "If you had known then your reactions wouldn't have been genuine" "So you made the plan work by not telling us anything?" Ruffnut asks earning two nods "Wasn't too hard though" Hiccup says. They could go back to stragetizing and Viggo's being send on a wild goosechase.

"Time to get some sleep Hiccup" Elena calls heading towards the forge at midnight a few days later "Hiccup?" she asks peeking in and she sees the huge mess "So you got backup now too?" Viggo asks, although Elena can't see him "Alright then, don't blame me if you oversleep tomorrow, come on girl" she says walking off, but she climbs to the roof of the blacksmith building. "Don't think you've won Viggo" Hiccup says "We know the book is here, tell me where it is!" Viggo yells "Yes we have tons of books, do you mind telling me which one it is you need?" Hiccup asks and Elena hears him clean up a bit and when she hears cursing she moves towards the door and Viggo yelling "Just come and we won't take your dragon!". What Viggo doesn't expect is that while he's trying to drag Hiccup along he gets attacked from above, the only warning he gets is a swift movement from the corner of his eyes and the next thing he knows is that he's hit with something before he loses consciousness, he really shouldn't have underestimated his opponents.
