Astrid's departure

"Come on this is insane!" Snotlout yells, startling Astrid "Do you have any idea how hard it if for them to get more then a few minutes alone?" "No?" she asks "Because it's your fault" Hiccup deadpans "Gods, every time we're finally getting passed the awkward part you show up" he says. "I didn't realize" Astrid mumbles "But it's important, they located Viggo's main ship, it has a skrill on board" "So the second phase starts" Elena says "Let's go greet them" "I don't think so" Astrid says "Astrid what's going on?" Fishlegs asks "We just want to ask why they're back" Elena points out "Stormfly" Astrid says, but the three dodge, so far only Astrid, Drake, Elena and Hiccup knew of the plan "Midnight" Elena says and she whistles "Let's go after her". They do, but they get shot at the second they come into range and Fishlegs goes down first "We can't shoot the night furies, they're too fast" Viggo says, but he gets knocked out cold before Drake can reply "Missed me?" Elena asks "Hard not to" he comments with a fond grin as he blocks the attack, usually whenever they'd be sparring the fact they can predict the other is annoying, now however it's good they do. When Hiccup picks up Elaine he does so in time because somewhere Viggo woke up "Hiccup watch out!" Snotlout yells, but the warning comes too late "Toothless, home" Elena says jumping on his back to steady him "Hiccup don't you dare pass out on me!"

They return and Elena has Heather fetch Gothi from Berk "Arrow in his chest" is the only thing she gets. Eventually though she falls asleep "We should let her sleep" Heather says "She's just tired, surely we can wake her" Snotlout offers, but he's met with two glares "She must care a great deal" Dagur comments "Funnily enough it was Astrid who never gave them time alone, intentionally or not we don't know".

The blow that Astrid is now working for Viggo seems to hit hard, on top of that, with their island pretty much compromised they have to return to Berk. "So" Hiccup says walking next to Elena "How did Stoick take the news?" "Eh, as well as expected, in fact, he instantly asked what kind of idiotic plan we have" she says "So I told him, afterwards he patted my back and said something that made it really awkward" "Oh dear, what did he say?" Hiccup asks taking her hand "His exact words were 'I'm so proud you're going to be my future daughter in-law' and to make matters worse Gobber entered right after that for something" "I can imagine how you felt". Since Heather and Dagur had to return to Berserker Island the remaining gang is quiet, the four unaware of the plan are wondering what changed Astrid, the other two being glad that they have some more peace and quiet... if it wasn't for Gobber anyway. "One more time and I will-" "Do what lass?" Stoick asks "Gobber" Hiccup says "Every single time we want to spend time together he shows up and we've tried everything!" "Except that one thing" Elena points out "Sorry what thing?" Hiccup asks, but he just earns a look that says 'seriously?' "Remember our plan with the furnace? Yes I'd rather forget that too, but that" "Oh that thing, well we could, but he has a dragon now, so..." "Who doesn't get his lazy ass out of the forge" Elena comments "Good point". He stretches, but flinches halfway "It still hurts doesn't it?" Stoick asks "Of course it does, an arrow to the chest does that, Gothi said, what did she say exactly?" Hiccup asks looking at Elena who just groans in annoyance "That you're lucky it was the right side, not the left side and that it'll leave a scar" she says "Why doesn't anyone know how to translate?" "Gobber knows" Stoick says "Right as if I'm asking him" Hiccup mumbles.

Gobber enters Stoick's house, but Stoick isn't sitting in his chair, he's cooking while Hiccup and Elena are cuddling in front of the fire "Hiccup lad, I need you in the forge" he says making Elena facepalm "How do you cope when I'm not here?" Hiccup asks "Slower" Gobber answers, but Stoicks walks up to Gobber "Sit down, you look like you haven't eaten all day" "I've had lunch actually" Gobber says. By the time the blacksmith finishes eating the other two are gone "What do you think caused Astrid to help Viggo?" the blacksmith asks "I don't know, but if someone finds out it won't be good" Stoick says.

"Finally" Elena says when the dragons land in the cove "Or not, Snotlout what are you doing here?" "Hiding from my dad" Snotlout says "He found out I've been going easy on Hookfang" "Just..." Hiccup sighs "The one place where no one is supposed to be" "I won't be in your way, just don't start doing things that make it awkward" Snotlout says quickly "Who was it?" "Gobber, who else?" Hiccup deadpans. Snotlout occasionally glances at the two who are cuddling, making a face sometimes, but he put himself on guard duty in case someone comes looking for them "It's my dad" he says hiding under Midnight's wing "This should scare him off" Hiccup says and he kisses Elena.

Spitelout enters the cove, looking around and he sees Hookfang, so he walks over, but he stops "Sorry lad" he says when he's met with Hiccup's glare, though he's clearly emberassed that he found Hiccup and Elena like that "Did you need something?" Elena asks, trying not to burst out laughing "I'm looking for my son actually, but I should continue looking" Spitelout says and he leaves as fast as possible "And he's gone, my dad will never let him live this down" Hiccup says, so Snotlout looks at the two "Well I guess he's not coming back here anytime soon" "I imagine not" Elena says.

Stoick starts laughing when he hears it "You should know better then to walk over without calling out first" he says "How was I suppose to know they were there, why are they there?" Spitelout asks "Gobber" is all the chief says "Poor lad, he's back and Gobber instantly wants to put him back to work, where's Astrid anyway?" "Probably spending time with her boyfriend" Stoick says "Don't worry about it".
