The offer

"Dagur wants to do what?!" Hiccup asks staring at his father "He said that if you won't marry Elena to unite our clans he will" Stoick says "Bet dad threw him off the island if he came here, he knows a viking you can't trust when he sees one" Elena says crossing her arms "Think of a plan before he gets here, you have three hours". "This is bad" Astrid says when they're lounging in Elena and Drake's house "Tell me about it" Elena mumbles "I don't wanna marry anyone I don't love" "Which is understandable" Snotlout says "I have an idea, you two are pretty close right?" Hiccup asks glancing at the two who are looking awfully bored "Wouldn't be the first time we helped each other out, however" Drake stops talking and thinks for a while "How believable does it have to be?" Elena asks "Usually the people back off quite quickly, from what I hear this Dagur won't and Drake and I have a line we don't cross when pretending to be a couple". The group sit in silence and no one can figure something out "He should be here any minute" Hiccup says "Let's go down so the dragons can hide somewhere"

At the docks Stoick is looking at the defeated look on the girl's face "Can the dragons pretend to attack?" he asks quietly "The night furies can't" Drake mumbles "I'll go talk to the others". And sure enough, in the middle of a conversation Hookfang dives down to 'kidnap' Elena, who isn't expecting it so she panics "Elena!" Hiccup yells, when he sees small fires and hears his father yelling he understands why "We have to save her" Dagur says "We have to find her" Hiccup says when Elena's dropped in the forest. "I sprained my ankle" she mumbles leaning against the tree she jumped out off "You take that side of the forest I'll take this side" Hiccup says "Call me if you find her" "As if, first one to find her gets to marry her" Dagur says, so Elena quickly goes over her options and she hides when the idiot walks passed "If the dragons don't eat her first that is" she hears him mumbles. Deciding that her ankle's more important then her future at the moment she heads towards the cove "You alright?" Hiccup asks when he finds her a few minutes later "Sprained my ankle after I jumped down" she says lifting her foot so he can see it "That looks like it hurts, let's get you back to Berk", he has to help her, so it takes a while "You got lucky, but you're never lucky, so you probably staged this entire situation" Dagur says "If they did then we weren't told" Elena says "Gothi says I'll be fine in a few day" "So Dagur, why the challenge?" Drake asks "Her parents threw me off the island after I threatened a dragon" Dagur says "Ah I see" Elena says with a sigh "Come on, let's get you something to eat" Astrid says "And Hiccup knows the area better then you do, more importantly, he knows her better then you do, bet you don't know the first thing" "From what I gathered she's quite a good dragon hunter" Dagur says and Elena asks, rather amused "What makes you think that?" "Well your parents looked amused when I mentioned you and dragons in one sentence" Dagur says "More specifically. A winter crystal dragon" "Those are real?" Astrid asks "Rare, as rare as night furies" Dagur says "If you don't believe me I can take you to their former island once you healed" "Former?" Hiccup asks "Something about a lava colored dragon the size of a volcano" Drake says with a shrug "However, how do we know you're not doing this to kill us all?" "If I kill you I can't be invited to their wedding" Dagur comments dryly pointing to Elena and Hiccup.

"So when is he leaving?" Elena asks while laying on the carpet in Astrid's room since they couldn't exactly go to the hideout in the mountain "Tomorrow if we're lucky. But I saw your face go red when Hiccup carried you back" Astrid says "And you go red each time Drake gets near you" Elena counters "And it's emberrassing to need help" she mumbles "I can see why. You've done everything without help so far" Astrid says while stretching.

"You're staying?" Hiccup asks looking at Dagur "Of course, I need to see her dragon hunting skills." "I sprained my ankle, I'm not gonna do anything, you can't order me around" Elena says "I can throw him off if you want" Drake says "Nah, I think Snowflake wants to do the honors herself", as if on que the dragon flies over and grabs Dagur only to throw him in the sea "As for the island" Drake says "We know where it is" "You shouldn't go there! You'll be killed" Dagur yells trying to stay afloat, once he's back on the shore there's no sign of the dragon "Why would we be killed?" Hiccup asks "There are two groups of trappers fighting over it, if there are any dragons left then they'd be hiding deep in the mountains, the island is currently unowned" "Actually it's mine" Elena says "Few people know that, but it's mine, also, there aren't any dragons left, they were killed".

As soon as Dagur leaves the group heads off "Are you sure we should leave them in the cove?" Drake asks "If what Dagur says it's true yes, we can't risk exposing them" Elena says "Mom found the island and gave it to me" she explains "He was right" Drake says seeing all the ships. "Care to leave my island?" Elena asks after jumping off Midnight "Your island- there's no way". "Really then tell me the name of the island without looking at your map" Elena says "It's uh" the two leaders grab their maps, making Drake facepalm "It's Crystal Island" Elena says "Though it's currently not snowing" "I really suggest you get off before she kills you" Drake says so they leave. "You know, this is in a part of the ocean we haven't mapped yet" Hiccup says "We have it mapped" Drake says "You know, somewhere in Elena's house back on our island" he adds looking at his friend "Yeah yeah" Elena says "Feel free to go and get it" "You mean from the burning village?" Astrid asks looking at the distance where Elena's mentioning too. The group heads off as quickly as possible and it's indeed Elena and Drake's island "Mom what happened?" Elena asks spotting her mother in the air "The dragons from the fields" "Take her to Crystal Island, find the cave with the marking" Drake says before flying towards the chief's house with Elena "Dad you're such an idiot" she says trying to help her father out of the house "I'm sorry Elena" he says "You can apologize when we're save" she says, but the house starts falling apart so she's shoved back outside "Dad!" "Elena come on" Drake says pulling her away from the building "Go with your mother, I'll help out here" "But-", Hiccup picks her up and drops her on Midnight "Come on, there's nothing to save".

It's quiet at crystal island and Elena is sulking about around the caves underneath, hoping to find some more eggs or dragons "I give up" she says that evening "There's nothing but bones in the area where most dragons are supposed to be" she adds "Really? Then why is your bag moving?" Hiccup asks so Elena opens it and her eyes widen as she takes a baby dragon from it "But how? I didn't see any recenly deceased dragons, but... I did hear ice shatter, there was a lot of ice" "It's adorable" Drake says, but the dragon wants to bite him "Okay, he doesn't like you" Hiccup says, they spend the night outside so they can keep an eye on things "I'm keeping her" Elena mumbles as the dragon falls asleep against her "You already have two dragons" Drake says "Shut it you two" Snotlout says "We're trying to sleep". Drake and Elena lay awake for most of the night until the latter gets up and heads back into the cave "You an idiot?" Drake hisses running after her "No I think I know when she got in my bag" Elena explains quietly and when the two stumble upon a hidden doorway blocked by ice they look at each other, when they break the ice Elena is pulled into a protective hug by Drake "Don't look" he whispers, in the small room are more baby dragons, but there's not one left alive from what he can see at first glance "How did they survive this long?" "I don't know, you wait in the hallway" Drake says, when he comes back he's using his coat as blanket "We need fish, a lot of fish" he says "They're alive, well other then four of the younger ones". As soon as Toothless and Midnight catch a glimpse of the baby dragons they fly off, coming back with a lot of fish "Drake, how many do you have there?" Astrid asks "Uh... Around ten?" he asks, they have twelve baby dragons in total "We put the remainder in the main area" Fishlegs says "This place used to be so full of life" Elena says looking at the dragon on her lap "And it will be again" Hiccup says "We just have to help it along".
