Crystal Island

The next night Elena is exploring the room, they had cleared the caves of bones and dead dragons "Find anything?" Drake asks "Yes, it seems this entire room was frozen solid until the snow stopped, that's how they survived, the eggs don't need to be warm to hatch, unlike most dragons, I think they're a month old" "The stream runs through the cave, but you knew that, it goes passed this room at the back, think that's where they got the fish?" "Not sure". Hiccup and Astrid are discussing plans for the island when the two leave the caves again "I would prefer it is you didn't plan to build too many things here" Elena says as the two identical dragons land "Caves, main area, they have plenty of fish" Drake says so the dragons head there "Won't they hurt the babies?" Fishlegs asks "No, they take care of the young in groups, the injured and elders stay behind, the rest gathers food, they don't lay eggs if the area doesn't match their natural island, they don't lay much eggs in the first place, but they usually hatch around the same time" Drake says "Elena's mother made us study them, when the others went of to hatch their eggs Midnight stayed behind with them" "That might change now though" Elena says watching the two night furies sleep next to each other "As if that's a bad thing" Drake mumbles "Those are almost extinct" "And so are our other dragons, I don't want something here that draws attention" "Duly noted" Hiccup says.

Upon exploring the island on foot they stumble across an old tree house "Hey, mom made this for me" Elena says with a smile "We could fix it, we can't really sleep outdoor the entire time" Hiccup says "True, also it might start snowing again soon" "There's wood over there we can use" Drake says. Fixing the tree house is easy enough and Toothless finds another cave opening, so they close the other one "Now what?" Astrid asks "My home is gone" Drake says "My dad-" "Probably made it out okay" Elena says "He's almost as stubborn as my dad was" "Point taken" "And finished!" Hiccup says "The wood is cold resistance, but you two knew that. So far there are two rooms ready and the main room" "How come these beds are so soft?!" Fishlegs asks "Eh we use something called a matress" Elena says "That's my bed by the way" "No fair, the biggest bed should go to me" Snotlout says, but he's thrown out by Drake "Hiccup can take my room" he says "I don't sleep much and I feel incredibly uneasy for some reason" "Astrid can share with me" Elena says "The twins can sleep in the main area" "But what about Snotlout?" Fishlegs asks "He's not coming back in here" Drake says "Geez, you act like her brother" Hiccup says mentioning to Elena "Because I am, not biologically, but I'm her brother, she's younger and way more reckless than I am" "So how old are you anyway? Because Elena-" "I'm almost fifthteen, he's al little more than two year older" Elena says "You're still fourteen and you killed a dragon that big?" Hiccup asks "I eh... guess so, I don't like telling telling people my age, mainly for that reason" she says rubbing the back of her head "So Hiccup, let me get something straight" Drake says "If she ever gets hurt on your watch I'll send Snowflake and Loki to hunt you down and torture you until you wish you were dead. That clear?" "Crystal" Hiccup says "But I don't think I need to give you a warning about Astrid" he says quietly and narrowing his eyes "No, but I'm more afraid of her than you" Drake says.

Eventually they let Snotlout in again when it starts snowing and he gets dumped in the same room as the twins "It's been ages since I've been here" Elena says "I'm surprised everything is still useable" "What's with the necklace in this box?" Ruffnut asks, but Drake takes it before they can do something stupid "I made it with ice crystals for Elena's birthday" he explains "At the time she didn't really trust me too much, so she accepted it, but didn't wear it, I have no clue why it's here" "Because it would be save here, that was the first present I had gotten from someone other than my parents, so I treasure it, a lot" Elena says "Now we should get some sleep".

The next morning the group finds the dragons in the tree house, not just theirs, but all the white ones too "I let them in" Drake says "They came flying over with the little ones" "Wouldn't be surprised if something scared them to be honest" Elena says lookibg outside "It couldn't have been a Snow Wraith, they rarely come here, but when it does it leaves everything alone, just taking care of intruders" "So it protects the dragons here?" Fishlegs asks "Yeah, since they have little to no body heat they're easy to recognize". The answer as to why the dragons are scared is on the docks "Dagur" Elena says "Leave your weapons on board in you plan to set foot on the island" "I came here more or less with another warning" he says "If it's a Snow Wraith, not that worried" Drake says "We killed the Red Death and another giant dragon, so I think we can handle staying here" "I knew you were great hunters" Dagur says "Watch out boss, a few baby dragons" "Don't-", the men fire and Astrid is surprised to see Elena took them away from the line of fire "We're not dragon hunter" she says "Now get off my island before I have them roast you to death" "Those dragons are her tribes symbol you idiot!" Dagur says, but the next shots are from a different ship and the group decides to run for it, back to the tree house "Drake!" Elena says handing him the dragons and dragging Astrid to run a different way "Wait are you two idiots?!" Hiccup yells, but he knows that answer "We have to climb the mountain" Astrid says "The volcano? Why?" Elena asks "Well, they're all after us" the blonde points out "Eh fair point, here's a good spot, cover your tracks".
